Unless there's some serious damage to it I'm not sure how that jacket would be worth less than $7.50. That styles popular right now so if you don't like it you might be able to make some good money on it selling it on ebay as a "rocker double rider perfecto SLP style Jacket".

Thanks for the info Case. It's in good shape except for the deliberate damage of a former owner. They cut off the belts and epaulettes. I'm not very interested in having anything to do with ebay at the moment so I'll probably wear it a bit and see what I think of the fit and feel of it.

Hi Michael A. Nice jacket for sure, but I'm interested in your black beret with the little bow at the back. It looks like the military ones worn by the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment back in the 70s.
The beret is a Boinas Elosegui and according to Daan over on the Berets thread in the Hats forum it was made for the Spanish Foreign Legion and, I think, Paratroopers.

Haven't decided yet if it is worth it or not.

Have a good one,
Michael

How in Gods name is this not worth it!? That's the nicest collar on a cross zip I've ever seen!

You must have some amazing thrift stores where you are, in Dublin I'd be very lucky to find a battered pair of 501s, and there'd be no chance of finding a leather jacket. If I lived in a bigger city like London for example I could and would dress myself entirely from thrift stores, well that would be the plan anyway.

Mind you, discovering Aero, Eastman and TFL would have scuppered those plans...

Looks great! How do you find the trainee quality compared to the regular offerings of Aero?

To be honest if you didn't tell me this was trainee jacket I wouldn't have known I can't spot anything stand out wrong with it, I own several other Aero jackets the quality and finish is on par in my opinion maybe someone with a better eye would disagree, for the price I paid I think I got a bargain.

Glad to hear you like it Mon. I'll give it a few wearings and see how it settles in on me.

I can't complain about the thrift stores here. But one does have to visit them very frequently to find the good stuff. Luckily that works for me because I try to bicycle 4 or 5 days a week for the exercise and putting the thrifts onto my bicycling route kills two birds with one stone. I don't think I can name a piece of clothing that I wear that isn't from a charity thrift or vintage store.

Thanks,
Michael
