Nah, just a tint in the pic. These are black.
I see the tint effect! Yes, black. Right now it is working to slim my middle, or making me. A bit tight but too nice to move at present. I've got a couple more.

Most early 50s MC jackets were high quality, this Spiegel is on par with any label I've handled, actually it stands out.

Aren't the 50s Spiegels great? JMax was the first to turn my attention to them, and I got one. A keeper. Any guess who made them for the Spiegel brand, Terry?

Out for my usual Saturday morning hike in the woods in a t shirt again. Almost the end of September and it was 19° and I was sweating like I had rabies.

No jacket required.

I think I'd better sell all my jackets on eBay before anybody realises it's never actually going to be cold ever again.

Surf! Cool! Are you surfing the giants? Saw some footage, it is like skiing down a mountain...

Sorry for the delay in responding. TFL wouldn’t let me on for a while.

No, not the big ones ;). That’s a young man’s game only.
Portugal has waves in all shapes and forms, and I am all in for the smaller, gently rolling ones with a bit of push from thousands of miles of Atlantic to help me get up without to much paddling going on.

This year is such a blast. I carry too much weight, I haven’t trained properly and I have a minor back injury. And I never had as much fun as this year. Just grateful to be here with my wife and the sun and the ocean.

Yeah it’s that way here as well. Summer just won’t let go. I make peace with it by getting up at the ass crack of dawn and sitting in my jackets in the dark, drinking coffee. Latest is the IH, trying to get it shaped for fall with a spray bottle, rather than an atomic soak. These jackets take such a nice shape. Initially fits like crap but molds to the wearer quite nicely. I think these are the best off the rack type3’s you can buy and certainly the best fitting from IH. The price is high but I dare say it’s one of the few jackets that’s actually worth it. I’m sure it’ll see more wear than all the others combined. Add 1” to the collar points and it’s the coolest jacket ever IMO.

This is a beautiful denim jacket. I'm never again buying one but it's ten fold nicer than any alternative I've had. But it's only leather T-3's for me.

I have a theory on the maker, but lack evidence. I have another like this with the Horsehide tag. The Lining is rayon often replaced by nylon in the early 50s. With that, I date this early 50s. This one has no leather tag, but looks/feels like Horsehide. Fine leather.

The horsehide tags on these Spiegels were small, sewn into the Spiegel label, and usually came off (were lost) first. Mine feels like horse, too. Very comfortable jacket.
