It really is nice isn’t it?! I love it. I know it’s stupidly priced but it seems it’s also becoming a bit scarce. I don’t see full count pushing it out like they used too and it seems the other Japanese makers of the cloth have let the wave pass.
It really is and as you said, it's becoming more rare. I can't believe how light and comfortable it is given how warm it is. Pretty impressive. Plus it has a unique look to it.

At the moment I have only this single shearling jacket. Since it's just colder again, my leather jackets are too cool for me and I wear the CC all the time. Which is actually pretty good, because it gets the wear time it deserves. I love this jacket when it's cold. Still, I'm looking forward to my new one. View attachment 483787
My CC arrived a few days ago and have been wearing it most days, in rotation with my ANJ4 - its in the Aero pebbled merino hide and is really comfortable and practical, and I like the “novelty” of the hood too….v happy with it. The ANJ4 is also a great jacket and can go deeper into the cold temps than the Irvin, but the tradeoff is that the former is less flexible. Having both covers most bases till its gets warm enough again for the leathers to come out again…..starting with the shearling lined Wayfarers!

Don’t get to see many Steinbeck’s on here. Would love for you to post more pics
Sure thing! I wear it today as well; the weather is really nice (Sweden). Just shot this picture with my phone.

I just bought a new camera and can post some pictures during this weekend. It's an interesting jacket and there's so much attention to details. There's hidden labels in the pockets, the zipper is a conversation on its own and the hide age amazing.

I bought It six years ago and it has been through some tough weather, that's for sure, yet, it just get better and better.

Another casual date night. This is my default winter outfit. It’s effortless, classy but not too formal as though I’m heading off to a business meeting. For my top, I’m wearing a wool peacoat in black with a blue knitted sweater. Straight cut Levi LVC47501 & suede boots. It’s winter time and we’re standing by the sea sipping a cup of coffee and Matcha Latte to warm ourselves up.

I have become an absolute wimp when it comes to cold weather. In college I would go out in below freezing weather in shorts, flip flops, and a hoodie. Now I need a jacket like this here in socal. I do wake up super early which is why I got it, but I'm still shocked that I needed to wear it every day last week.

Cool design, kinda like a cross zip but with buttons.

Jokes about binders aside, I am wearing the Golden Bear CHP again today. The sleeves on my shirt are much longer than the jacket, and the stretchy flannel fabric kinda got pulled down the sleeves, further exaggerating the look.

@Observe Yeah thats partly why I went with it over an N-1 deck jacket.

That CHP jacket is beautiful. I have that same issue with my Cal CHP. You can see the shirt sleeves popping out in the pics I posted earlier. It's annoying, but not the end of the world.

First post in this thread with many more to come! This is the Schott 544, Cowhide Hip Length Car Coat in Nutmeg. This is a lighter weight, boxier style that is great for layering underneath. It does a good job of keeping the wind out on a day in the 30’s in Philadelphia. I would highly recommend this coat to anybody…..a real compliment getter!

Sometimes you can't win with those vintage cop jackets. If it is not the borderline short sleeves, it is shoulders 21" wide with 18" wide waist and 20.5" long back... Great for riding, not so much for casual wear. So if you find one that meets all the requirements, hold on to it!
The sleeves have a massive curve in them which conditioning did not fix, so it makes it more pronounced when arms are straight. Such is the case with many vintage jackets in advanced stages of wear.

All of that actually works perfect for me! That's why I love mine haha
