Hey MrProper, how do these heavy shearling jackets handle sweating in cold weather? Say you are doing a strong workout in freezing temperatures and you sweat inside the jacket. This can be an issue with other jackets because once you stop and cool down, the sweat can freeze, possibly giving a person hypothermia. Do shearlings jackets like the one you are wearing in this photo have the same problem or do they handle it better?

I took my daughter and seven of her friends to a hotel on the mag mile. Surely this ought to get me some kind of fatherly award. Thankfully my wife is with me so we look more like a youth ministry and less like a human trafficking syndicate. 8 teens in a hotel. NEVER again. Wore my Windward by Regius. Best jacket I’ve ever owned and only getting better.

Rain let up today and the weather got just warm enough to wear this Flathead Single Rider. I love this jacket and I'm a lil jealous when I see it in black .

Of course, I try to avoid a workout in this jacket, but during a quick walk it can happen that I get sweaty. Then I open the jacket and the zippers on the sleeves and let air in.
The advantage of wool is that it also warms when it gets wet. It can also absorb a lot of moisture.
Always feels very pleasantly dry. I haven't worn my down jackets since I got the Shearlings.
However, I do not wear the Shearlings for sports, such as skiing, but love to do so afterwards.

I see, thanks. I might do something like hike or chop a lot of wood when it is cold. What do you wear for cold weather sports if I may ask?

When paddling the same as when running. Long sports pants, long-sleeved functional shirt from Odlo and over it a dry suit. If it is less than 5 degrees Celsius or very windy, put on another fleece to it.
When skiing the same, only that then the dry suit is exchanged for ski pants and ski jacket.

Fit looks great. The sleeves on these are quite long. Too long for people of average height like me. Perfect if you're 6'2 +

^ I like the way the back panel starts to crease, that gaping open pocket welts also looking nice and lived in, nice collar too, only that cuff tab seems too close to the edge for that kind of cuff adjuster
