The Vanson model J arrived today, the one I had no intention or business putting an offer on. Initial reaction after 30 minutes of ownership is D@mn, the competition weight is everything that everyone hyped it up to be. This beast fights in the heavyweight division coming in at 9.5 lbs. I suspect it can defeat all contenders in that department. It’s heavy, the heaviest leather jacket I have held. Big ass Vanson branded zipper works flawless, leather has a beautiful grain and most importantly it fits me just right. Fit and finish are top notch, this is after all the first and only Vanson I have gotten my hands on and so far very pleased. Pictures never do our jackets any justice but here are a few.

Search for black d pocket over. Now to stop buying and start wearing. Cant even imagine how good this will look with some solid wears. Other jackets in my closet going to be jelly

Yep. I know it's stupid to equate happiness with possessions. And trust me, I am super aware that I am blessed to afford some of these things. I never take it for granted. It still feels gluttonous from time to time. So I'm going to go through a period of enjoying what I got and not as much focusing on the next hunt for whatever. But I totally hear you, I can't deny wearing some of this stuff makes me feel younger, stronger, better. Not in a shallow showing off kind of way, but in a good self reflective sort of way. Mix that in with some grounding, family, friends, good health and values, and it's all good. What more could anyone want.

Searched for years for a Schott that really bowled me over, until I found this 623 Horsehide. Stripped down, no epaulettes, no belt w/black zippers and snaps. Schott did this one right!

LOL! I’m guessing you were raised a Catholic? Some of that guilt runs deep.

I never confuse owning stuff with happiness. I see possessions only as a bonus. Also, I’m a Libra and have aesthetic sensibilities. I have an affinity for the craftsmanship that goes into a beautiful leather jacket. So, I want to support the individuals who make these beautiful pieces.

Regardless, Someday all these nice jackets will move on, into someone else’s hands for their enjoyment!
