@JMax , If it is not inconvenient, could you take a close up of the main zip? I sourced a very similar one and installed in my Spiegel, trying to acertain if it is period-correct (purely by chance...:)). Yours is 50s, right?

Having fun with this probably early 2000 banana republic suede truckerish. Was more of a beige-brown when I got it. Had a few little stains and dryness. Gave it a wash and sprayed it with lexol and water. Needs a good 2 or 3 day dry in the sun to even out some. I'm thinking about swapping the buttons for bronze or copper donut holes. And I'm going to see if I can get past the Arnold Schwarzenegger bicep cut, otherwise trim those too. But really digging it. Anyway, keeping me busy and having fun.

Does Lexol bring stiffer dry suede (after wash) back to life?
The older Bananas were made better, no seam right at the elbow to save on cost.

we'll find out soon LOL. I've used coconut oil on another suede and really liked how it looked, sort of a waxed flesh kind of thing. But coconut oil is hazy when it's dry and kind of makes it dull and was very oily to touch, so this time I thought about trying something else. So I diluted some lexol with a little bit of skidmores too, mixed with warm water and sprayed the whole thing down. On some of the edges and corners, I added skidmore directly to create some patina type look. Works really nice but the jacket just drinks the skidmore.

It's going to hang in the sun today but doesn't have too much of an oily or waxy feel. But really brought the jacket to life. I should have taken a good before pic, but here's a shot from the ebay listing:

vs now. I might do one more coat of lexol/water just to even out some more. But I kind of like the hyena sort of look lol:

The funny part is the bench behind you makes it look like you have tufts of greyish hair on the sides of your head!

lol. thats true
Looking great as always. You've probably answered this elsewhere, but what make/model are those jeans?
Thanks :) This is a very affordable Jack & Jones jeans. Model TIM slim fit, I think. Nothing special, but I like the color and it is low waist, which I also like.

Rainy and gray so I donned my "suntanned" Lawrence jacket by Mister Freedom to get the mail, water the dog and take out some recycling.
My phone camera died but I do have one pic of it and another that I found here on Fedora Lounge's for sale forum. It is the exact jacket that I bought from Christophe!
This is my first post on FL and thank you for having me aboard!
