I'm fine with Stu having his opinions but this jacket's mine and it's not going anywhere without me (unless he wants to offer me 5k+ for it, hint, hint, hint).

I could care less what someone thinks about me riding a scooter. It's the best tool for the job IMO and I don't have any plans to change to a traditional style motorcyle any time soon. Scooters are easy to ride, carry a lot of cargo, get amazing gas milage, are more agile at slow speeds and block wind better than most motorcycles. They're also very cheap/easy to buy and repair. Why would I want a big heavy bike for city riding?

Search and Rescue Denim jacket with contrasting vest. Made by a local company here in Vancouver, heavy duty canvas. Love this thing.

I was just busting your chops. I like LW and have had one in the past, but always get a kick out of how macho his script is. No offense meant.

I'm not offended (I probably responded a bit too harsh there). There's a lot of people who look down on scooters which is sad because they really are perfect for many uses (mainly urban riding).

With regards to Stu. He has his way of seeing the world and I have mine. The only thing I've ever cared about was the quality of the work not the political or lifestyle views of the workers.

To me, it was more of a jab at Stu than Case...just how I read it. I have lots of "Vespa" pals, but I could not ride one - esp at 6'-4", 240. AS it is, my friends tell me I look like a dinosaur humping a football when I ride a decent-sized bike!

Wearing what is probably my warmest jacket - even more so than the N-1. An RRL I picked up a while back.
Has a really thick lining - same as the collar and is made of jungle cloth. I'm sure this thing cost a fortune new, but I grabbed it here cheap.
Sitting outside in 39º, which for this place, is chilly.
Sorry, old phone and nobody to help me out...arms are not long enough LOL.

I like that a lot Butte, has a very nice immediate post WWII/Korea US Army vibe to it.

Nice score ;)

Thank god - a guy here in a jacket SMILING! Lookin' good, @nick123

I swear man, my best smiles always come out near airplanes! Brings out my inner-child. Camarillo airport in Ventura. They had an original CBI ATC A-2 with the "stork" patch on display there behind glass, which I failed to take pics of. Also a cool WASP ladie's flying uniform behind glass.

Yesterday I was wearing my goatskin Eastman Leather A-2 as I will do today. What do you think about the fit? Don't mind the slim and low rise pants.

I got it from Ebay a while ago for a very low price and it's a size 42 and I don't know if I could get away with a 40 though. I can fit a thin sweater under it over an undershirt and shirt but it fits snug then. I have to lose some weight anyway ( 6-8 Kg).

It is my first Eastman Leather and my first A-2 and I love it.

This is the size tag and model:

The seller description said something about an early experimental Eastman A2 . It has contrast stitching and a faded Army Air Forces faded transfer on the left arm. I don't know how old is it.

Looks to be a size too large. I think that with your build you want a slimmer cut. Others will chime in I'm sure.

For perfection, you could size down 1 size, but in turn you'd be ridding yourself of a jacket that looks great IMO. Keep that thing!

Thank you very much. As it was my first A-2 I tried to get one on Ebay and from there see what's the best size for me. I thought a 42 would be a right fit from the measurements but I found myself always going for a one size too large on suits and jackets.

I will keep it for now because I like it and can fit a sweater under it although I know it's not the "perfect fit" but I will be sure to get a 40 next time. Maybe when I get a better fitting jacket I can get rid of it.

Nothing wrong with a couple jackets - as you will learn :)
Definitely needs vary, and having jackets to layer (or not) is good. I've definitely got some that cover both ends! We all start the same way - trust us - it's a journey!
