Looks cool! I don't even have the patience to browse in a store too much, I usually go for something specific and quickly get out.
Same here, i always rush when in real store and end up with someting less optimal, especially when the a shop assistant act very helpful by following me around and keep asking me what I want or try to sell me the most popular etc. Someother people might actually feel very pleased by attentive shop assistant and make them feel treated like a vip... to me they put pressure and i feel they need me to find something quick and leave.:D

Love that collar! I'm really curious how it will look after you send it for alterations. It's a really nice jacket.

I’m also curious to see what JL does with it. Beautiful jacket.

That said, there is just a certain something vintage jackets, and especially Cals imo, exude that current makers, no matter how beautiful and perfect, cannot replicate. An authenticity I think. I dunno.

On a Schott roll lately. They certainly fit better the older back you go. 641xx. This thing exceeds expectations. Longer sleeves would have been nice, but it's based on the vintage Beck design. I guess people back then were skinnier with shorter arms.

Maybe if the current made jackets has been worn for 50yrs they too will have aura or patina.

I don’t think it’s patina. An aura perhaps. I don’t think most of today’s makers will have it in 50 years. They predominantly are copies of the original. And most lack an authenticity of purpose, of being real workwear maybe? They were and are created for different reasons. Just spitballing. Who knows. I truly love them all. Time to watch The Stand.

Me too lol I reached out to JL already and i hope they agree to take the job on.

I'm thinking this was made for Johnny Bravo lol it's around 18.5" Shoulder/22" Chest/17" Waist with massive arms.

Those older Cals/CHPs and all of its versions does have a charm to it

Schott trucker £120 eBay U.K. from anoushkavintage cheap owing to significant creasing from storage. Sorted with a machine wash on delicates air dried flat and followed by a light coating of Pecards and a gentle blow over with a warm hairdryer/creases now gone!

Great job getting rid of creases. They always scare me. The jacket looks fantastic.

This is really cool! I know someone'd say it's a bit oversized in the shoulders or something but it just looks great. Not that boring-ass perfect fit but the kind with an attitude. Flawless victory, if I am to be asked.
