What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Keep an eye out on eBay for vintage versions of the Pendleton "OutdoorsMan" shirt - heavier weight wool than the standard Pendletons, more like a shirt-jac. One of those under a leather jacket would be perfect for damp NOLA winters.

Nice I will! I’ve seen a few that haven’t had that name but were described to be heavier than the typical offerings.

JL vest along with the my heaviest shirt to date.

It’s an “explorer” shirt from Taylor Stitch in wool plaids. Much beefier than the Pendleton wool shirts I’ve picked up. Supposedly made to be worn untucked, it’s got plenty enough length for me to wear either way. And metal donut buttons. Love it. I see it as a trial run towards getting a heavy piece from Iron Heart at some point.

Out today picking up some new trees for our slowly evolving garden paradise.

Man, I have been very close to buying that same shirt, but I wasn't sure how heavy it would wear or which size to get, M or L. How do you like it and how did you size it?

I like it but have only worn it today.

Comfortable during a chilly morning in the lower 50s with just a long sleeve t shirt. Build seems pretty robust, like wearing a less scratchy wool blanket.

Sizing it’s bigger and longer on me than the other shirts I have from TS, definitely in the larger/overshirt category. Heck it has an inside pocket. Felt it looked a little sloppy untucked but on a taller frame maybe make more sense.

Grey cow 4yrs old now, and double knee jeans
Both havent been worn for awhile.
Jacket feels soft, i start to believe leather jacket breaks in just by time and gravity alone and exposure to air and some sun rays even when just hanging there on hanger.

Brooks again. Wearing this puts a smile on my face. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a leather jacket but had no idea this one had it until I opened the box and put it on. It’s like when you have a “type” of girl that you (think you) like and you meet someone totally different and that turns out to be the love of your life.

I found exact same pants with double front panel only in leather. Now I'm ready!

Brooks CR does that to you, yep. I mean, at least I think so as the girl analogy is lost on me but...

It might have to do with having no expectations whatsoever, I’m not saying that it’s only that because it’s clearly a super nice and comfortable jacket, but it might be a factor. I wasn’t expecting anything and then I saw it and put it on and just wow. Yeah.
The girl analogy. I don’t know, that’s how it was for me anyway. I was into blondes when I was young. All my previous love interests had been blondes. Then I met my girlfriend and mother of my two kids 14 years ago and just fell so deeply in love it was crazy. She’s asian. I had never looked twice at an asian girl before meeting her. Love takes you by surprise. You can’t plan it. I don’t mean to compare her to a jacket I bought cheap on eBay, but I guess I just did. Good that she’s not reading this forum lol

I've never had a peacoat (always figured the sleeve in a 40 would be too short), so I usually go with a black Filson Mackinaw in these scenarios. Love all the pockets. Had to go 38L in it though due to Filson's chronic over-sizing.

Will take a look for a warmer and larger pea coat next week, a retailer around here has currently got some Schott&Others at 35% reduced.
