Wanted to say this, you definitely need to dress up with this bad boi. The jacket reminded me immediately of the 50's Sears catalog art where people'd be all dressed up under the leather jackets. It's got class. Definitely not the kind of jacket you throw on over a T-shirt.

View attachment 269961 View attachment 269962 The First round of yard cleaning in this monstrosity. This is by far the stiffest denim jacket I’ve owned. Makes IH feel like a Kleenex. I bend my arms and it creaks like a squeaky door. Figure I might as well get the break in underway. Bravestar black as night 21.5oz type III.

Hey ton, nice looker - how does thick denim like that wear over time? Does it fray or tear? I read some feedback that thicker denim is less strong but that seems absurd.

I’ve seen that too but I think that is the by product of people not washing their jeans. I’ve had the same pair of IH jeans for nearly ten years. I don’t subscribe to the “wear for 8 months before washing” camp. Partly because it’s disgusting and also because sweat and oils will damage cotton! As far as jackets go it’s kind of a different animal but I haven’t seen any premature wear on my indigo 21oz jacket. Just quicker to fade/ crease etc...
I really like Bravestar. They are affordable, made in the USA and cut their stuff really well. Not on the same level as IH by any means in terms of meticulous construction... But as the saying goes, good enough for government work...

I've seen ultra-premium jeans advertised for sale-at high prices- on another forum with words to the effect, "owned 2 years and only washed once." Then I think "bio-hazard.":p Yeah, I just don't get that.

Reminds me I need to wash my Projects which haven't seen water that wasn't rain for a year now. Ever since that ugly line appeared after the last wash, I've decided not to put them through that again but it's time. They're in a pretty used state right now.

I don't have all the cool rags! I always look like a bum, whatever I put on.

It's just a different style.
Wide trousers and cowboy/engineer boots look less "neat" than slim fit and shoes.
From my own experience, I know that a longer beard often looks sloppy.
When I put on a jacket once a year, I also look different ;)
But I think you are really quiet satisfied anyway with you :D

Man, few grands worth of clothes which isn't much at all but you'd still expect I'd be able to come up with anything fancy(er) for a date. Then again, switching jackets and boots over the same old outfit doesn't really count as trying. Wish I could walk out of the apartment only once like @Marc mndt ! Those are my goals.

Thnx buddy, I really appreciate it but that's way too much credit. I'm still a rookie, owning three or four nice jackets.

This is a great outfit! How much fancier could one get!?
