You are right, out of the Cals I have owned, only this one is perfect. I never will part with it. At some point I will reline it, though I am am not sure with what.
About when was this made, do you know? It looks like its in too good of shape from the era I picture in my mind, but has that look. In any case its freaking perfect for that style. Wouldnt change a thing.

My guess is late 50s. Most of my other ones were 60s, when/where you see a different leather and different pulls. Also, I asked Gwen to date a straight-zip Cal I owned with the same leather-- she estimated early Cal, 50s. This one is in perfect shape, though the main zip was replaced. The seller knew what he had and it cost me lol.

Thats what I thought but didnt want to say it aloud in case I was wrong haha. But also as I indicated their was a voice in my head saying it was too perfect to be that old. WOW!

For this style and paired with those pants I agree that it looks too short. Try pairing it with high rise trousers and it will look just fine imo.
If I understand correctly, it's all about the trousers..in General, does it suit me? sleeve, back? thanks.

Personally i dont see a problem with back and sleeve length, the only potential problem i see is the length at the front.
As @torfjord says, higher rise trousers would put your belt higher and sort out the front issue.

I think it fits you fine. The low perspective of the photo exaggerates the effect in both series of photos. I personally have no problem with the lower part of the belt showing beneath either in front or back. The higher rise jeans makes the problem go away if you personally find it problematic. I love the slighly comfortable fit through the body and I really like the sleeves.
