What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Still my favorite in that awesome collection of yours.

Thanks. It definitely is one of my favorites and probably my most versatile. I've ridden in it, hit the pubs in it, traveled to meet with clients in it, and been to more formal events in it. As much as I love my Trojan, Cheyenne, etc., there are just some activities where I wouldn't (couldn't?) wear them.

Today my most recent Eastman Luftwaffe variant. It is my "warmest" jacket with the blue cotton lining.
It was 4.9C when we set off this morning and it did not top 17C all day. So "cool" riding.
These were taken on the land shore side of Garden Island the navy/Submarine base south of Perth Western Australia.

The group shot is a few of my riding crew, and in the backdrop by sheer chance an SS Commodore was passing.
That is an Australian built 5.7 or 6 litre Chevrolet V8 engine "Ute" (utility!) or pickup.
What a stunning winter's day.

Vans baby. I worked in one of their retail stores for years. Sadly at that age I also made some terrible life choices. Eh, it was a good first job.

My first job was dressing up as a hamburger for my dad’s restaurant. I’m glad I never got a tattoo of “Bunsy”. :p
Vans are great, and classic CA- I think you’re ok Nick.

My Holden Commodore 6.3 LS3 V8 at Fremantle surf club. Jacket is Simmons Bilt Nebraska in black goat.
Car model is : 2017 Holden Commodore SSV8 Redline Motorsport edition.
This is a seriously fast racetrack ready car , but for the road. The last "dinosaur". My "Sunday run" car.
Here in Western Australia that means year round Sundays , not like Canada or a US snow state or the UK.
The reason for the backdrop ? Surf club sponsored by Toyota and Australian car manufacturing gone since 2017.
This car is one of the last Australian General Motors built hence the number plate.
Juxtaposed with the Toyota sponsorship..
Photo not of classic proportions but I wanted to show the sea horizon and the lifesavers viewing platform.

Wested Indiana Jones Last Crusade hero jacket, probably wrong jacket for this forum, It reminds me how much I love indy jacket, do I really need those heavy LW jacket? View attachment 242812 View attachment 242811

Nice and good fit too. I'm glad Wested finally got the pattern right (with some help from fans and a screen used jacket). I bought their version of this back in 2002 and it was inaccurate.

Nick I love Vans but I have to say that is total brand commitment right there. I sure hope they gave you some free pairs after that one. I wish they were still made in the USA. They are not the same quality they used to be since they stopped making them in the USA back in the late 90's. Mine seem to fall apart instantly now but I still love wearing them.

It was a cool first job. I became friendly with a relative of the founding family. Dutch heritage, hence the 'waffle sole'. Nice folks who really lived out the American dream. Iirc they were bought out sometime during the 90s. In the mid 60s, they were really more of a MTO outfit. Often schoolkids would bring in their uniform fabric and have shoes made from the material ready to pick up the following day(s). Also they were one of the few shoe companies doing the heat-infused vulcanized sole at the time (Converse I think was the other?) Of course now they're a massive entity but their early days were kind of like us in our Aero tartan search!

The tattoo was more symbolic of finding some semblance of personal responsibility during my tenure. I really was a wreck prior. Probably still was when I had the thing done lol. I never wear shorts so it's not the end of the world...
