I still cant bring it home, the side adjuster belt has not been cut yet and zipper pull not yet installed, i plan on having collar snap but later once the leather is softer, i cant bent the lapel now, maybe after washing and conditioning i can fold and then collar snap can be added, but for now the fit is nice.

My wallet ruined the back shot, but it looks soften up.

I said it before, I'll say it again - it's crazy what those guys can do. Looks JUST like on your drawing and I don't mean the details, which woulda been easy but they got the vibe down perfectly. It's all proportioned the same which also seems near impossible to me. You did the gussets right, too. Must be comfortable.

Also glad you went with a collar this time.

yeah thanks man, the proportion went well look like my drawing :):) they did excellent job, last month I wore it and we put the d pocket with double tape ,and also the slash pockets I have the trim on my hand, position it on the jacket while looking at mirror, and marked with pencil. the slash pockets are slightly curved.
back gusset is the best positioned than my previous, closer to where shoulder blade is:) and extend on top of the shoulder too, as you can see it from the front, gives much better articulation despite the stiffness and snugness.

really want to bring it home, wet it and wear it to dry :(

View attachment 240597 View attachment 240598 Here is a cool juxtaposition: I found an old photo from 1996 when I visited the U.K. and was wearing my first Lost Worlds jacket, an A-2. I’m in the British War Museum where they had the tail section of Rudolf Hess’ Me110 on display (the plane he flew from Germany to Scotland in 1941 when he surrendered or defected or whatever).
The second photo is my new 2020 LW Rigger jacket (a light rain is falling).
Back in 1996, before TFL or the LW website (even before Google!), I learned about Lost Worlds from a print ad in the back of some aviation magazine. I ordered my first LW A-2 and was hooked! Thus began this “hobby” of buying, selling and buying more bespoke leather jackets.
Seven LW jackets (plus many others from a multitude of makers), 24 years and countless dollars later, I may have finally found my “Grail” jacket, the Rigger!
Awsome story, thanks for sharing thor. Its hard to imagine you finding l.w. in the back of a magazine in 96' when i was 16 years old.

@thor I like your story and very interesting that Stu was already on the market in the 90's. Both jackets look good on you...don't know if you still own the LW A-2 of the 90's.

@navetsea This is one of the most unique jacket designs I've seen here on TFL. It's just beautfiul like most of your jacket designs. If I could I would copy this jacket! Very well done!

Thank you, and sure I give my permission would be a flattery to see it made , just please share with us here the work in progress pics if possible, due to covid I didn't visit as much during its process and have a lot less documentation of it, and the nat vegtan is hard too see in picture.

The main arc is very graceful on this jacket, very unique - I am wondering if it would be worthwhile to copyright it. I am wondering if a version of this jacket without patch pockets at all but instead only with slash pockets and breast pockets would also be attractive.

Thanks @Robbie79! That first jacket was a size 44 regular and I wore that one just about every day for 10 or 12 years. It looked incredible. Sadly I outgrew it. Had to sell it and bought a 46 Long (which I still have, going on 10 years now).
My Rigger is a 48 Long (bit of extra room for a sweater or vest).

So glad you found your “grail” but the idea that I have a 20 plus year journey ahead makes me... nervous. Do tell, since you have found jacket Nirvana is it the journey or the arrival?
@Bfd70 no worries my friend, it’s a bit of both! Halfway thru the journey I started to look more for G-1’s rather than A-2’s. And the last couple of years I wanted a civilian-style jacket rather than a military one. It’s kind of like switching from vanilla to chocolate to strawberry as your favorite ice cream!:)

it was attractive too with only slash pockets, but without the patch pockets the twist locks stand out too much probably looking a bit more costume than utility, and I would not get those studs and raw edges around the pockets to burnish with wear:D.
