No wonder Arnie fell in love with the jacket! :D

Arnie and me, both... Isn't Arnie rocking a padded Anton Vanek in these pics? These breast slash pockets, double cinches...kinda match.

Thats the "normal"est double black leather wearing person in the whole internet. He probably can add up a leather cap, gloves, and a cigar and would still look a normal dude
Such technology of T-800.

Well todays Saturday Harley ride actually took place Sunday. Saturday AM was forecast 80% chance of rain that was of course in reality 100% !

Vanson Comet in 44" . Bought NEW in Australia couple of years back from a clearance sale in Queensland. $450 Aussie

Off the peg a neat fit, which is the design brief, no billowing AT ALL on the Harley even at 160 Km/H ( 100 MPH).

Zip tight sleeves so no wind ingress even with shorty deerskin unlined gloves. Taken on a coastal stop north of the City.

As appears the "usual" for me , Indian Ocean backdrop. Waves breaking on the offshore limestone reefs.

I guess this is my all time greatest score. While enjoying the morning sun I realised I was admiring the grain on this 60 something year old jacket and thinking "dang, this thing is remarkably...new looking". The hide has that almost glossy/greasy sheen like shinki does. The wrinkles and feel of the hide remind me of comp weight Vanson if only lighter by a third or so. The quilted lining (sleeves and body) is plush and surprisingly warm. There is cotton drill in the armpits for durability? Or better ventilation? The lower side belts are better functionally than the higher types, which I find I never tighten. I originally thought I'd put racer patches and a number on this, now I think it's simplicity and quality of material and build are stand alone adequate and super cool. Perhaps I should dedicate a thread to this piece of American history?

P.S. I got it for $45. Take chances. Fortune favors the bold. Thanks world and Rich Sher and the officer who kept this thing somehow pristine.
Your description of that hide would also apply to the Connolly half-belt I got from you. It's such a beautiful jacket I'm still wondering how you could've parted with it. LOL

This jacket is crazy cool!!! What is it? I mean, is there any other name to it? I can tell it's made around the same pattern as my MC Sears Oakbrook D-pocket, fits very similar and the collar / lapels are the same. I'd love to have this.
This is the only tag that I see in it. I'm very happy with how this worked out. I was worried it wouldn't fit but it fits great as long as I'm wearing a thinner shirt.
