Too much noon-time light here, but a great day for the Dark Blue FQHH Premier HWM...

You should try moving somewhere else to take your pictures.
If the subject is dark (black leather jacket) and the background is bright (your white house) the sensor in the camera is really going to struggle finding a setting that can correctly expose both the subject and the background.
Doing that you will very often end up with an underexposed subject. If you adjust to the subject you will most likely have a burnt (overexposed) background.

That's why i do my fit pics how i do rather than with a white wall behind me, it's much easier to get an exposure that works for both subject and background.

Maybe try moving somewhere where you have something that reflects less light in the background, a wooden shed, nature, anything that isn't white/ light coloured.

Grey background is what your camera will find he easiest to adjust to.

That does NOT look like Kattegat ? ( Oh Soz, that was Norway !)

The jacket would probably work there tho ! Lots of hand tooled leather in that series ( my most favourite of late !)

My most recent jacket acquisition is a Simmons Bilt Nebraska in Black goat.

Ok, all "political machinations" aside the jackets are the "same same"

It has rapidly become my "Number 1" ( but DON"T tell the other jackets !)

Photo taken a few weeks back with a true Viking "breakfast of champions" (NOT!)
