What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

It’s such a soft hide that it camouflages the weight. I’m not typically a drape guy but this thing hangs like a cardigan sweater. It’s sticky and spongy. Really weird and just a delight to wear! I actually instantly thought of your CAL when I unboxed it. Reminds me very much of your jacket. The grain, everything. Thanks for the kind words!
ps- we should still do a field trip to Horween, maybe this summer. Winter break got away from me this year.
That's too funny! The more you talk about it the more it sounds familiar for sure.

I'm definitely in on the field trip.

cow over type3 again, horrible morning i woke up to an empty hot water dispenser. Just found out the rear panel has since dimpled here and there looking alot more interesting since i wear it and hang it together with denim jacket inside for few weeks.

Although I didn’t truly get to wear it today I couldn’t wait to get home and put on this Natal. Easily the thickest hide I’ve had from any maker to date. What’s most impressive is how comfortable it is. Like a 10lb deerskin. It drapes beautifully. Just when I thought I was going full denim bro...brother Ivan pulled me back into the fray. Really love this one. Just feels right. Understated and easy to wear View attachment 214615

My Natal CR is by far my best fitting, most comfortable, badass leather jacket I’ve ever owned. Sure there’s better looking leather out there, but anyone will be hard pressed to find the fit Natal provides!

Honestly, I'm actually a bit surprised Horween doesn't seem to have anyone on staff to chime in on FL now & then. I suppose they aren't hurting for business, but I have been a bit worried about "Lincoln Yards" possibly threatening Horween's future - the wealthy residents of Rahm's proposed city-within-the-city are not, I strongly suspect, going to enjoy living next to a tannery in August...

Great fit!

A Windward just sold on eBay in my size (40) but didn’t have the cash on hand to go for it. Lucky bugger (perhaps you :p) got it for insanely low price.

Top of my list is either the Windward or a Vanson Gambler. (Anyone have one in 40 they’re looking to find a new home?)

How warm do you find the lining? It was my main concern in going with the Windward vs the Gambler since New Orleans is a sub-tropical climate

Wow what a difference. You feeling more energetic, better mood and all that too?

Congrats on getting to the medium

Thanks.

Pros: I'm much, much lighter on my feet. I can go up multiple flights of stairs 2 at a time without running out of breath which I couldn't do before. I'm able to bend and lift things in ways that I couldn't before. I don't feel the blood rush to my head when tying my shoes.

Cons = I get cold a lot easier so I'm wearing more layers than I used to need. All of my old clothes are either too big or have to be worn in an oversized way. Moving heavy things is harder. There's some real benefit to having some weight to throw around when you're trying to move a piano or hold up a heavy motorcycle that's starting to tip.

All in all I'm very happy to not be carrying all the extra weight everywhere.
