Thedi Shawl-Collar aged Buffalo.

Ordered it in September when I had the privilege to meet Theodoros and his daughter Alexandra in Thessaloniki.
Arrived yesterday, so I took it out despite the cold. Will make for a great spring/summer piece!

Clayton is my new favorite horsehide! (At least for a while it is). Best way to describe it is to say that in terms of look and feel it sits somewhere between Aero’s Vicenza and Horween FQHH. Its stiffer and thicker and than Vicenza, it has the shiny finish of the CXL FQHH, but its more pliable and lighter than it and brakes in easier. Great hide all in all!

As a bonus I really dig the statesman pattern!

Here’s a few extra pics of the jacket:

Super jacket @Jejupe.
The contrasting stitching double-downs the cool factor especially the sleeve/cuff treatment.

Not the jacket I’m wearing today but my jacket story for the day. I was working for a lady I know here in Berkeley cleaning up some funky old wiring in her garage. Tucked away in the very back of the garage she had some old clothing stored on hangers. My eyes immediately went to the black leather jacket in the middle of everything and I pulled it out to have a closer look. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was a well worn Vanson and when she came down to check on the work I asked her about it.
She told me that she had the jacket made for her by Vanson sometime in the 90s. At the time she rode a BMW motorcycle and had been unable to find a riding jacket that fit her well. She is originally from the East Coast, and still has family there, so she went to the Vanson factory to have them measure her for this jacket. Very cool story, and it definitely made my day.

Wore both my Aero B3 and ANJ4 today with only a t-shirt underneath. Winds 20-30mph, rain, snow, sleet, ice. Only thing I noticed was my face being pelted by the sleet. These jackets are amazing! Cross section shot of my ANJ4 shows how thick the shearling is. Nothing is gonna get through that.

A few days ago when it was sunny and in the 40s, I tried out my new Nudie Denim faux-shearling lined flannel jacket. Jacket has a nice weight to it. And bonus points for ethically sourced fabrics. My lumberjack transformation begins!

That would be a good one for the “what will aged black leather” look like thread!
