Revlon's Love That Red is a beautiful, versatile and authentic color. It's on my list of favorites, and you can't beat the price!

I want to try that one- I really like Revlon's Certainly Red that is a 50's shade as well. I'v heard it being called a dupe for Ruby Woo (it should be the other way around though, as Ceratinly Red was here first) and theough tehy aren't an exact match it is the closest i have ever found.

My favorite at the moment is Manhattan Lips2Last, shade 44Q. It´s an insanely bright red, just the way I love it, and lasts forever. It stays on so good that I even have trouble getting it off in the evening ;)

I have owned both Certainly Red (as per a suggestion on this very thread years ago) and Ruby Woo. Unfortunately, I didn't own them at the same time, so it would be difficult for me to say how similar they are from memory. If I remember correctly, though, it seems that Certainly Red is pinker or bluer than Love That Red. I can definitely say that Ruby Woo has a totally different and MUCH drier consistency than either of the Revlons.

I can't stand Ruby Woo just because of the dryness, even when I use it with the lip prep from MAC that I was recommneded to use with it. I take Revlon any day over MAC period, when it comes to lipsticks.

But I really, really love Besame. I purchased their sample pack a couple of months ago and find Red Velvet perfect for daywear.

^ Red Velvet is neither of those. It is a more brown red. :)

Which is one of the reasons I love it. It doesn't pull fuschia on me like a lot of reds do! That's hard to find with my colouring.

Ohhhh, that was my go-to when I was still in Germany! And their red nail polish! I miss this brand. The US have a ton of great drugstore brands, but I really like Manhattan.

The Besame reds are gorgeous, but they are too "creamy" and really bleed on me, does anyone else have that problem?

Yup, same here. Besame's Red Velvet is my everyday lippy; the colour is perfect as is the packaging, but it does require a routine of "apply - dab w/Kleenex - reapply - apply Lipcote" if I want it to last a reasonable amount of time. I had the same problem with L'oreal's Penelope Red, the colour of which I loved but became not comfortable with the ethics of that particular company so I ceased buying it.

Staying power-wise, I have much better luck with MAC's Russian Red or Illamasqua's Maneater, even though neither colour is perfect on me.

Zombi hit the nail on the head, I think; Red Velvet is more of a brown red. Duh, I thought they either had to be orange-y or blue-y...

I always have fun experimenting, but I keep going back to Outlast. I hate everything else covergirl makes like crazy, but outlast really works. If you wait long enough for it to dry it's very comfortable I find even without the balm. And the "eternal flame" shade is perfect.

I find them very easy to work with, but habven't had any trouble with bleeding. I always prep my lips before with foundation and use a lip liner, though.

Thanks for that review, Highball Emy! Today they were having a promotion on Revlon lipsticks at my local drugstore, so I have now added Love That Red and Love That Pink to my arsenal. Adore them both!! This is my first pink lipstick in years, so I'm rather excited :)
