I also purchased the Aqua Cream for lips in Red, #8. Can't wait to try that, apparently it's smudge proof!

That is such a beautiful colour! Is it in a pot or a stick?

My Kat von D lippy has just arrived, so I scurried into the loos with a wet wipe and my parcel. And I am not entirely sold on it! I think it's because I don't have a lip pencil at work, but it just doesn't look as "finished" as my usual Mac Red. But I love the gold glimmer. So I will try again tomorrow with lip pencil and report again.

Let me know how it works out for you. It was too orangey on me. :(

I see what you mean about the orangey. It certainly isn't as blue as my usual reds! But with decent application and some lip pencil, I have decided that I really quite like it. The metallic finish is very unusual, but it is long-wearing and quite comfortable, not drying or grainy.

i just bought myself ANOTHER mac red lipstick! that brings the total to 4....mac only that is lol!

extended play, long-lasting wear. Katarina posted it a page ago.

and i love it. my absolute favourite colour so far. it is darker than Viva Glam 1 and Russian Red, and i truly believe it is the best colour for me. i love red lippy, but sometimes i feel that you see it on someone and all you can see is the red, y'know? like it totally dominates your face and colouring. this one is a true red, but the colour is just so complimentary. i love it.

i will post a pic when the battery for my camera is charged!

Oh i can't wait for the pics, you see i'm looking for a darker red colour and i think according to the link that Inky put up (thanks lady), the extended play colour there looked just the ticket. Although i'm hankering after the Dubonnet too. I love the Russian Red and i have an Estee Lauder classic red too which i adore, but i know what you mean about the colour being a bit dominant sometimes and i fancied something a little more understated. Clinique used to do a brilliant dark reddy brown colour, which sadly they have discontinued, boo hiss, and that was perfect for my colouring, so here's hoping!!

Wow, love this thread! So many lovely lipsticks! :eusa_clap

Can anyone suggest a lipstain? Looking for various shades as well as red (though I prefer an orangy red, as the blue reds go almost immediately purple on me  ), and while I've tried the Covergirl lipstain - goes on almost watery / thin (great if you tend to overapply like me), you can use lip goo aka Body Shop's Hemp lip protector (sorry, I call everything like Chapstick "goo", silly of me, I know) without it coming off too quickly (about 4 - 6 hours), but I'd really like to find something that stays put no matter what. Even if I have to use a special remover to take it off.
Lipsticks are great, but too many have gluten or vitamin E from wheat sources in them (drat!), so having Celiac / Sprue, I'm looking for stains instead. Any suggestions would be most appreciated...

(Nexy day edit): Ooops, looks like I may have found some answers in another thread - sorry for my confusion, ladies! :p

i originally wanted the dubonnet one Miss Sofia, but they didn't have it in my local shop (Liverpool). it is online, but the girl i was speaking to seemed to be under the impression it was 'online only' and therefore probably being discontinued. i love the colour of Extended Play, but it is a cream lippy and i just can't get it to stay on very well. my lips must be like Teflon lol !

Hi there, oh i don't mind a cream lippy, i could forgo that for the colour. (I can't seem to get any kind of lippy to stay put that well). Shame about the Dubonnet only being online though. Still i've got a day in London next week to play hunt the lippy, so i'm sure i'll come up with something. x

Hiyas,
I bought MAC’s Venomous Villains Cruella DeVil ‘Heartless’ lipstick yesterday. I love it! Wore it to work today and already had one colleague ask me ‘I love that red, where did you get it?’

This lipstick is darker on me than in this swatch, and a bit more pink. A great alternative (from basic red lippy) for day wear for me!

Black Dahlia, I like the dark red one but the light one has it's place too. Can't afford any MACs right now. Got mine as charity.;)

I'm having trouble getting used to my new MAC Dubonnet which is one of their amplifieds. I've never had problems with mattes or cremes before. I'm wondering if it's just because it's so new and all of my other lipsticks have a more rounded down tip now that I find it hard to apply the new one? Same thing with Revlon's CITS. Anyway, the CITS and Dubonnet go on easier on top of a layer of vaseline. Not a big deal.

I think I like my MAC Hang Up a bit better than the Dubonnet. Hang Up is a cremesheen. I also have Lady Bug which is a Lustre. Not quite what I want this time of the year but I think I'll appreciate the Lustre in summmer. I can't remember the finish/formula of my Vivacious (it was pink) but it was glittery which I didn't like.

What's everyone else's take on amplified vs. cremesheen vs. Lustre?

My favorite red's are both Sephora brands. Sephora Collection Rouge Creme Lipstock The Red 04 and Hot Tango 05. Hot Tango looks best on me - every time I wear it I get complements from multiple people. They are $12 a tube and worth every penny.
