I love this portrait of Francoise Gilot, Picasso's companion for ten years and the mother of two of his children.
The photograph was taken by Robert Capa in the South of France in 1948.

John Singer Sargent: Lady Agnew of Lochnaw

Lovely. Sargent is a favorite of mine; while in college, I stumbled across an excellent-
and most convincing-Sargent portrait that I splurged $250 of GI Bill bucks for.
A forgery, but one wild and memorable week tracing its provenance.

My two favorites: Ed Wood, who I always felt bad for because he seemed to try so hard to make good movies, but just did not have the skills:

And Dr. Clayton Forrester, because he tried so hard to rule the world, but also didn't have the skills:

But awesome portraits of both great men!!

I have a horrifyingly large collection of movie stars' portraits. It's impossible for me to name one favourite, but here are the contenders:

Ann Sheridan

...and if we were going to stray into the area of painted portraits, I've always loved the portrait of the Marchesa Casati by Augustus John that is hanging in the Art Gallery of Ontario. Visited her two days ago.

This is another favorite of mine! (by Man Ray of course :D)

Nancy Cunard (10 March 1896 – 17 March 1965) heiress to the Cunard Line shipping businesses and one of the 20th century's most celebrated muses of Dada in 1920s Paris.

Nancy Cunard was known for wearing dozens of African bracelets on both arms.
