I don't know about you, but I've never had any desire to jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane (and that's despite the fact I own a parachute).

I think industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss (architect of the '38 and '48 20th Century Limiteds) called it "cleanlining".

Great looking aircraft the Vulcan Warden, but I would not like to be a crew member in the back when an emergency happens. Alright for the pilot and co-pilot they can bang out but the other 3 poor buggers in the back didn't have it so easy!

For me it has to be the Hawker Hurricane, the unsung hero of the Battle of Britain and as the pilots who flew them often said, it was a good old sturdy workhorse with an excellent gun platform that could give out and take a hell of a lot of punishment and still get you back home in one piece.....:eusa_clap
