Yeah, I've also read purple goes well with hazel. Along with some blues and most greens.

Hmm...you might be right about the purple because it doesn't work with my SIL's green eyes. It's a complexion thing too. Some say it's the best color to make their green eyes pop. Blue eyes looks best with browns, golden tones, peach, black if you like the smoky look. I think purple looks best with brown eyes. The darker the brown eyes you have, the more colors you can get away with. It's not true that you can't wear brown or black eye shadow with brown eyes. Well, it all depends on the look you're trying to achieve in combination with your complexion. I can wear metallic/shimmery browns just fine and black is okay but quite neutral and bland on me.

There are so many sites that give recommendations for eye make-up for different eye colors. I don't agree with all of them and a lot is down to personal experimentation to find out what works for you.

Purple brings out the brown in my eyes, actually, and so does green. A green blouse, however, brings out the green and so does Bésame's plum dandy eyeshadow, and the same with pink eyeshadow.

As mentioned above, plums look very nice with hazel eyes. I personally like bronze eyeshadow better, green looks good too.

My eyes used to be brown around the outside and green towards the pupil, and the green was flecked with gold.

But now they seem to be going very bright like... Irish-green? I don't know how to describe it. They change often, so I'm not expecting them to stay green for very long.

...And I don't wear make-up, but when I wear green, my eyes seem greener. [huh]

Bronze, I think that's where the skin tone comes in, it wouldn't look very nice on me. A golden green looks fine, though, like in the photo you posted there. I think I'll apply some different shadows and take photos!

Me too December. Maybe there should b e a category for those whose eyes change color. My do it based on the time of the month with them going from blue-gray to blue to blue-green. But they also have brown flecks in them, although not as much as a sister of mine, hers are the same as mine, but with a large flash of brown. It weird, there are 6 of us siblings and the the first 3 of us have blonde hair and blue eyes and the last 3 have light brown hair and brown eyes. Its like we're divided straight down the middle.

I'm not sure on the link between my colour changes. They just happen randomly I think.

Mine also have flecks, and a different coloured ring around the outside of the pupil.
