Long confined to the occasional group of geeked-up New Yorkers who played it at impossible-to-dance-to hyper tempo...

here we hear a fine and proper German orchestra entertaining a somewhat sedate Biergartenkonzert at a more respectable clip...on German MTV no less...

Great stuff! Vince Giordano can be heard every Monday and Tuesday evening at Sophia's on 46th St, in Manhattan. Solomon Douglas I recently experienced for the first time, and he is totally smokin', too. He hails from Seattle, as I recall, so you PNW-ites should be able to catch his act some time or other. Anybody know more about the German outfit?

That's true, unfortunately. Sometimes, Max Raabe does some swingy stuff, but not really.
Also, some might claim Roger Cicero or Annett Louisan to have swing influences, but not everybody sees it that way.

Just a small thing, but I don't think the singer is really German. He has a slight accent, so I guess he's Hungarian, too.
