I am ashamed that I actually have to ask this question. Thus far, my OFAS efforts have been surgical strikes on particular hats. But last night, I totally deviated from my usual practice and rolled the dice. Maybe it was the fact that I couldn't come to grips with the fact that it was snowing here in Motown -- aaagghhhh!!!!

Anyway, I thought the fact that these Borsy's had European sizing might be a good sign, and that they may be old enough to be "quality" Borsy's. Then again, maybe not. I just don't know. Since I can't stand the suspense, does anyone have any ideas?

Unfortunately I can't answer your question, but I will say that I was watching that lot hoping the same thing. At the last minute I convinced myself that they would be too large for me... Sarah has been reminiding me that I need to keep the hat shoppping under control, especially after she gave me the green light for a Panama from Panama Bob blocked by Art...

Honestly, at the last minute, I was almost hoping someone would outbid me, since I wasn't completely comfortable with the "shot in the dark" approach. So, it really is kind of a crapshoot -- I'll keep my fingers crossed...

from what I can see from here (admittedly not much) you nailed it, but good. $70 ea. for three ostensively fine vintage borsos. I can promise you that any one of these, with the right auction, on the right day , could fetch $150-$200 USD. The two size sixes are 7 3/8 & the five a 7 1/8.
The " ANTICA CASA " designation, I belive, dates these to before the Borsalino plant move in the 19??'s (little help here?).
If these do not fit your needs, I'll be happy to give them a good home! ;)

:eusa_clap Well Done!! :eusa_clap

Will do, John. Of course, it was the fact that there were no photos of the interiors that made me a bit nervous. Then again, that might have helped keep the bidding down...

I think what you've got there is a desirably shaped head! Imagine a Borsalino lot like that all sized 7 5/8 or 7 3/4. Heck, imagine any brand! I wonder if it'd ever happen. I don't think it matters which way you look at it -- you struck gold even if they're brand new and here's why; you can auction them off individually if you don't like them and, in the end, make money. It's an entirely win-win situation. Good job.
