Alright Ent, thanks for the response.
Nice to have a "get to know you" chat. Next time, best we do it in private messages.

Nice to have you onboard, even if you do think an Open Road is a Campdraft (and not the other way around). ;)

Best to you, enjoy your day.

Now back to hats. Here's my one and only Disney.

Wow… that the same hat in different lighting. Amazing how much the color shifts!

Cant figure out where to put this so Ill just leave it here lol. This weekend in my quaint little East Texas town of Crockett, were having having the annual Blues Music Festival ( Home town of the famous blues guy Lightnin' Hopkins). Live music, food and vendors. Got to thinking with an influx of Blues fans and Hipsters, that it might be a chance to sell some of my shorter brim hats. Had a nice mix of Stetsons, Champs, Adams, Dobbs etc. Worked a deal with a local Antique store ( right next door to a couple of the main live music venues) to put up some of my hats. The owner immediately fell in love with one of them ...A nice 3x beaver 2" brim) so I went home to dig out the original stetson box for him. Before I got back there, a couple all the way from France walked in and bought one of the others! Two hats sold and the festival doesnt even start till sat morning... not a bad start! This weekend might leave me some wall space for more new hats at home lol

Wish me luck!!!

On the Campdraft versus Open Road “you say tomato and I say tomato”. Which does not translate well into the written word as it does verbally from the I think Broadway song.

Anyway regardless who claims first rights and I trust you are right as much more knowledgeable than me on hats, it is still one of the most flexible hats to bash into many shapes.

I do not know if you read much European literature but from memory “On a Winter’s Night a Traveler” by Italo Calvino neatly encapsulates the battle on who originated something.

Today is bowler weather so on the hunt on Fleabay but given I am not sure if I will wear it price is a factor. Amazing how many people mistake my Homburgs for a bowler so maybe that will be my substitute.

Any way happy hatting.

"Happy hatting"

Another great phrase you've given us. I can see you are a poet to rival our own @VoodooSan.

Happy hatting.

Other hats I've worn this week, it's been a mostly western week for me. My No. 1, my not vintage 7x, and my Hemp OR.

Looks like one more potentially wet day... Time for one of the old semi beater hats just in case I cant bob and weave in between raindrops. This one an old Royal Stetson Whippitt-ish looking thing ( No tags inside except size tag when it came to live with me, so not sure exactly what it was) Added a new liner, cleaned up decently and has a nice older shape. One of my favorite errand-running hats.

That's one heck of a nice-looking "beater" hat.

I am in a very good mood because I just picked up this 100% Beaver Stetson hat (I do not know if it has a name), It was very badly battered but I did my limited best with a brush and a tea kettle. Also a size too small for me but again the tea kettle was useful. I bought it for £50 (that's about $80) on ebay. Can anyone tell me anything about it??
