Had that dreaded meeting last Friday. At least I met him during Happy Hour so he could buy me a couple drinks.

Started out chilly this morning (37f) but warmed up nicely. Gave the yard the first good haircut of the year and enjoying the weather out back with a salvaged old Moose River and one of the favorite Peterson pipes ( Brim was all limp and wavy so I did some brim binding to give it some more life back). Todays tobacco blend is Cult Blood Red Moon cherry. Topping it all off with a Sazrac Rye whiskey

I can only try to catch up with the hat greatness posted around here. Here’s a Custom Hatter of Buffalo stingy finished in 2012. This hat was created from new old stock of felted edge Borsalinos that Gary was correctly rumored to possess. I jumped at the chance to have a genuine vintage Manufactured edge in my size, buying his last 2 in my size.

Today is the second hat bought in the last few weeks.
Stresa Cervo 1.jpg
The hat is branded Cappellificio Cervo - Bantam.
Stresa Cervo 2.jpg

The felt has the Barbisio workmanship label, so we are looking at a product that was inherited from Cappellificio Cervo in the late 70's or early 80's when the neighboring hat makers closed down giving Cervo their brands and leftovers.
Stresa Cervo 3jpg.jpg
The felt is nice and finished with a short fur, the colour is "Stresa" and in my opinion it is not the real colour, but a sort of fast label.
Stresa Cervo 4jpg.jpg

It was hardened with shellac for some marketing reason.
It is practically new and has the flavor of nostalgia for the Italian hat industry in its best days.
My compliments for the hats that everyday are under my eyes

40 degrees this morning and supposed to be close to 80 this afternoon... I cant wait till the normal East Texas spring and summer weather arrives (70s at night/ 85 during day). Dont get me wrong, I love some of my jackets and coats but I hate HAVING to wear them lol

Hadnt had many of the Gun Clubs outside in a while, and it felt like a black hat morning....so today its a Stetson Gun Club Diamond Jim
