Got this in the mail today. A White Label Lee. The felt is similar to an early Stetson 20, but much softer to the touch and very malleable. A 2-3/4" Cavanagh type edged brim and 5-1/2" crown.

Gorgeous hat, Don. Quite the find.
I got a package today from Mr. Randall, he did a wonderful job cleaning up and doing a little resto on my No. 1 Quality Stetson. I'm super happy with how it turned out!

On a drizzly day, wearing a Geo. W Alexander "Circle A" hat that I don't think I've worn before and don't care if it gets a little rain.

Heinrich Balke Bremen "Prima Weser Hut" possibly 1920s. This Stiff Felt is made of wool and has a great form and a tight brim curl. I found this wool Stiff Felt back in 2016.

This Wool Stiff Felt actually has a mirror inset into the liner logo! This could be a one of a kind. I need to do another search for the mark.

Wow, just this one page has four killer hats on it! I can't wait to catch up to the whole thread.

I am checked in to my flight home from Tokyo. Enjoying one last Japanese meal under the brim of the Fed IV. This guy has been a real trooper for this entire trip - and hardly the worse for wear.

Here we are at the Edo Palace park today (not sure what to actually call that place).

I had two interesting hat encounters the last few days. The first was a little local fellow using what looked to be one of those face mask neck clips as a wind cord. Smart idea!

The second one was running into an Aussie in a Fed IV. His was imperial quality but the color almost exactly matched my heritage felt.

Happy mid-week to you all. In the words of Eddie Veder, I'll see you on the other side!

PS: I forgot about this pure beaver Stetson I saw for sale at a hat shop the other day. The crown must be six inches and the brim 3 inches. Amazing felt. They want $1000.00 for it. Glad it was way oversized or I would have been tempted despite the crazy price.

Possibly the KoKyo Gaien National Garden.
Looking good. Are the jeans a Japanese denim?

Indeed, they are Japanese denim. Good eye! These are my first pair of Samurai jeans. Turns out 17oz is as heavy as I like them and I fell in love with Samurai immediately. I am becoming a selvedge head.

And yes, right again - Kokyo National Garden!

Jeez—and I want to know more about that leather jacket! Looks like an amazing trip, Nathan. Give a shout if you’re passing through NYC on the way home.

Etsuko and I got Samurai jeans for each other for Christmas last year. I was wearing mine today, but they don’t appear in the photos. Hornskov Rancher. Still wearing the Schott cross zip at every opportunity. Since I can only wear it on weekends, it’s taking some time to wear it in.

Nice. Is that a mirror in the liner tip?
