J. Hückel´s Söhne "Flexible Seal Velour" possibly the mid 1930s. This is a really great Velour with high gloss. I found this Velour back in 2017.

J. Hückel´s Söhne Promotional Pocket Mirror, possibly 1930s late 1920s. I found this Pocket Mirror back in 2022.

Detachable leather? What is that?

The Carter detachable sweatband system was this design where the sweat was held in with these little metal buttons. The idea being the sweat could be easily replaced. Unfortunately it didn’t catch on and went the way of Betamax… a better mousetrap maybe for the customer that never became standard. Although I’m sure in a factory setting it was easier to machine sew on the sweat as opposed to sewing the buttons at the designated intervals and then fitting the sweat in.

Mostly you see them on Stephen L Stetson hats in the US. I believe I have one on a Canadian hat as well most likely Biltmore.
