Stingymas cannot be forgotten this morning. Here is my offering to the good people of TFL, a Dunley Supreme fur felt with a 1 7/8 inch brim that sold for $22.50 back in the day.

Todays little short gem arrived to me as a Formerly Stetson Tijuana that someone clipped to a 1" brim ( and didnt even do a good job of that)

Did a little reblocking and stretching to lower the crown about 1/2" and "grow" the brim out a bit. Then I grafted on a 1/4" more new felt to the brim and covered with a ribbon edge binding. Now sits at about 1-7/8" brim. Grafted in some plugs to fill some moth holes, and even stitched up an inch long rip in the felt where someone had pulled down on the brim too hard. Brim binding gave it back some structure and the new wider Khaki ribbon hides a lot of damage

Maybe a lot of work for a basically junked hat, but it HAS survived!

Fantastic, Daniele. Nice organic crease and that brim curl is superb.
Grazie Stefan.
The magic of some black hats is undeniable.
A couple more and then in the new one we will see what to do :)
Looks great with the jacket!
Thanks a lot.
The jacket is "Navigare" Italian brand
Wow that is a unique looking hat, Daniele. It has stately aristocratic appearance. Would you call it a short brimmed Homburg? I am not too familiar with Parisian hat manufacturers.
Reggie, to the pertinent question I answer with what I have found over the years on men's evening hats made in France. They are hats that have the shape of a homburg with the dimensions of the original, more or less, the plus is the finishing of the felt in shiny black melusine and the narrow brim edging. Advertised in the 50s as a hat to match a coat and black tuxedo of course. I have recovered three completely new ones... they are too many for me and my few evenings as a socialite
TREMENDOUS
Thanks Joe. My contribute to the StingyMas will start today

First contribution to the StingyMas that has been popular on FL for a while.
I enjoy showing off hats with narrow brims
Salice Borsalino 1.jpg
I have a few of them and today I am showing one that is not the best of stingy, but it is the first one that came into my hands
Salice Borsalino 2.jpg

Borsalino finished in medium fur and in the color loved by Stefan.
It is "Salice" a dull green good for camouflaging on a gray day among the ditches of the Po Valley

I am joking of course. I would like to have more hats of this quality.

I thank everyone for your kind words, appreciations and likes.

Wow! What a transformation. Is that the enigmatic "sky grey" color that's been popping up in the lounge lately?
