Thanks, guys. I was lucky enough to have Daniele sort me out with two beautiful heathered hats about three years ago. I would venture to say the other one (a Huckel) is the nicer of the two, but this is the one for Stingymas.

Thanks. I’ll have to do a search for Chapeaux Morreton & see if I can find other similarities. I wonder if @Daniele Tanto (who sold me the hat as an unknown) or any of the other of the Lounge’s European crew has an opinion.
This hat looks similar. It is currently listed on Ebay as "FRENCH MORRETON 1950s FEDORA HAT~CASHMERE FLECK GRAY". Absolutely gorgeous! Not sure if that is the same as yours, but I may low-bid on this one based on how nice your hat looks - providing, the creepy mannequin head does not come with it... :D

After giving the Stetson wool some love and attention yesterday, it gets to go out for coffee this morning. The curl made a dramatic improvement both in appearance and it structure ( the brim is actually staying straight now lol)

Its a Stetson Montes 3x wool. For being a lesser hat, it ended up being a decent looking lid.

Thinking it needs a Buffalo Nickel concho hatband

10X Bradford Las Vegas model in Silver Grey originally sold by Pecan Valley Western Wear & Saddlery in San Saba, Texas got the call to action today.
( Try saying that 3 times fast.lol.)

* feeling kinda tired this morning because I sat my alarm for 3:30A.M. this morning because there was a hat on Ebay over in Australia that I wanted to place a " last 30 second bid " on. Worked out well and I not only won the auction but I got a nice old 3X Stetson fedora for cheap !! Yes sir....my kinda deal !! Last 2 pix are a teaser for y'all.

That is a VERY handsome Bradford LV, Timmy!! So YOU'RE the one who scored the Aussie! I was keeping an eye on that, basically just out of curiosity. I look forward to reading your thoughts on it when it arrives.

Here's my opinion: I believe that at a certain point in the life of French hat makers there was a "reunion" of those who remained to deal with the hat crisis. In the sixties or early seventies, if I'm not mistaken. I had found some documented information, but I don't have it at hand now. This merger meant that felt was produced, sometimes of excellent quality, sometimes a little less, by a single source and then modeled according to the taste of the manufacturers.
I have several hats from that era and some are on my list of those that can leave for other shores. Just ask :)

I reiterate the above with a clarification: I don't think Morreton was written on the sweatband otherwise I would have sold it with his own brand. For French heathered hats from that era I have several to sell. The important thing is to indicate the size :)

Not sure where to go from here. Timmy's (@TimmyV) Tijuana the other day reminded me I need to debut my grizzly Gay Prince clone. Joe (@Blare) is in the throngs of Stingymas. And then Daniele (@Daniele Tanto) and Stefan (@steur) are showing the love for the black hats. I guess if I go black I'll never go back.
Maybe, but you have to be careful to be yourself in the sea of hats, especially in Europe :)
Someone is on my departure lists for other shores so express some wishes and I will see if something interesting comes out of the closet

Sunday has come around again. I'm in the same old place just with the new hats of the week to show you. I tried my best to throw in some black hats in support of Daniele's efforts.

I help Stefan's efforts with another Barbisio, this time in color.
Argento Barbisio 1.jpg

Today I was not very attracted by my daily walk, then the sun and the desire to see the sunlight on the horizon called me.
Argento Barbisio 2.jpg
For the occasion I wore a Barbisio Classic. The finish is "Taupè" and the color is "Argento".
Argento Barbisio 3.jpg
I also found a friend of youth and while walking we told each other anecdotes of another era. It was pleasant.
I temporarily interrupt the series of "Blacks", but I will return soon in the meantime let's enjoy the Barbisio.

Thanks for all your likes and comments. I try to answer everyone.

My, oh, my!!! That is fantabulously scrumptious, Don!!!

Dobbs must have had a good selection of colors in those... Except for one brown Seteson... all the other Stetsons Ive seen were the mist Green

Nice’n, Don!
I don’t see many ORs in that color.

Bamaboots posted some pics with a similar OR last week. He stated that the color was "Sky Gray". Love it! I'm on the hunt for other Stetson models from that era to see where else the color turns up. Looks great!!!

WOW !! What a beaut !!

That is GORGEOUS, Don!!!!

Thanks again gentlemen. You are all very kind.
