From your pics, the pouncing on this hat is amazing! The finish looks exceptionally smooth. Great find!I scored this yesterday from a lady in a nearby small town. It’s a Resistol 3X beaver Ranger, and based on the price tag on the inside, I'd place the vintage around 1961 to 1966. The lining and sweatband are both gorgeous and in AMAZING condition. The retailer, “Alexander’s”, was a multi-state chain begun in 1891 by Moses Alexander, who went on to serve two terms as Boise’s mayor, and subsequently two terms as Idaho’s governor.
Despite its workmanlike name, this is very definitely a dress hat, not a “working western” model of that era. The felt is incredibly thin and lightweight, on a par with my lightest vintage fedora.

Nice! Great hat. I love those whipstitch models.Starting the weekend off right with this Royal DeLuxe Stetson with whip stitch brim edge and hatband. First time I put it on my head I could feel the stitches popping that connect the sweatband to the hat and about 1/3 of the sweatband came loose. Got it all sewed backed in a couple hours and now good as new !!
Hope y'all have a good 'un !

It's a hat that I really like for its shape and how easy it is to wear

Thanks, Reggie! There's not a lot of examples of these older Biltmore hats (the Blitz thread is less than two pages), but given the dimensions and build characteristics I would venture to guess 40s.Wow that’s awesome! What year was that one made?
That's a mighty fine looking Resistol, Mark.I scored this yesterday from a lady in a nearby small town. It’s a Resistol 3X beaver Ranger, and based on the price tag on the inside, I'd place the vintage around 1961 to 1966. The lining and sweatband are both gorgeous and in AMAZING condition.
