This morning I'm proud to show y'all one of my latest acquisitions. Much like yesterday's hat, this is another of those " rare as hens' teeth" hats that I felt lucky to find. Demon Hanover made by Hoyt Hat Company in Danbury, Connecticut. There are some moth nibbles here & there but nothing that would stop me from wearing & enjoying this lid.

My goodness. How is it two of these show up in a week! It’s funny how that happens! Congratulations Tim!

Day of changeable weather.
Goraita Amiata Borsa 1.jpg
Leaden morning with rain on the way, midday strong wind and autumn sun with raining leaves.
I dusted off this Borsalino Qualità Extra Ssuperiore Amiata color and Goraita hat type
Goraita Amiata Borsa A.jpg
Lunch with the family in a neighborhood trattoria, a ballroom once in the sixties of the Veronese musical groups
Goraita Amiata Borsa 2.jpg

The hat is an atypical Borsalino (for flat brims) sold in Italy probably in the late fifties early sixties

Thank you for your appreciation and compliments for your headgear.

Darn, two Demons in about a month here!
Demon was a good horse. Not too many horses had a hat made in their honor.
I don’t think Roy made one for Trigger.
But then not too many horses had an owner that owned a hat factory.
And not too many privateer owner’s piloted their own horse to win the Hambletonian either!
Rare hat with a rarer story.
(Check the labels, maybe made by MacLachlan).

Thanks for the details !! Here's pix of all the labels I could find under the sweatband but I don't know what to look for.
* I've still got a spot reserved for a Mac in my collection...one of these days !
