“Same same but different.”

In Asia and the Middle East you see the same merchandise on offer at all the shops. The standard sales pitch from the merchants is “same same but different!”

Today my fare is also “same same but different” - this time, Canadian Royal Stetson.

Busy with phone calls this morning arranging suspension of cell phone, internet, utilities, etc. Wait time for an ATT call back: “between one hour and six minutes and one hour and twelve minutes.” :O

My Brando jacket is breaking in nicely…. I’m gonna be sad to leave it behind…

Where I get confused is this, are stetson still making hats like this and if so where can I get one? I agree that David's hat is absolutely gorgeous with a great ribbon and trim.

Gareth, if you're speaking about the Stetsonian, Stetson discontinued making that hat in, I believe, 2016. And those were the NEW-era hats, which you will come to find, hanging out in here, are vastly inferior to the Stetsons of the 1950s and earlier. I strongly suspect David's is one of those older-generation models.

Back home doing some outdoor cooking, I finished reading Alice in Wonderland for the first time ever. Loved it, particularly the four branches of arithmetic!
Later, cooking outdoors in my Tula, I traded the Kindle for an a book of poetry by Sam Hunt, a New Zealand poet who was (is?) a really popular performance poet long after poetry had gone out of fashion.

Lewis Carroll was quite the accomplished mathematician. I remember studying him at university, either in my Matrix Theory class or History of Mathematics.

Wegener "Extra" possibly mid 1950s. This Homburg Hat has a really nice form and is in great condition but it's been many years since it was last worn. I originally found this Homburg Hat back 2010.

That's all class. Great looking homburg, Steve.

This morning I chose this Stetson 3X Beaver Homburg (?) style hat in Brown with Black ribbon and brim binding. The brim is smaller than my other Homburg hats so maybe this one is called something else ?

Still very much a homburg. Later models often had shorter brims. Very nice.
