VERY striking hat! And the group buy shots are amaaaaaaaazing!

Amazing! Congratulations. I’d love to hear how they survived all these years. Enjoy!
Mark, David, Thank you! I purchased the hats from a antique store in the Czech Republic. From what I can remember they were stored away in a building and accidentally found.

I made a similar NOS find back in 2015. Also from the Czech Republic. Here are the photos from the seller that show all the hats and the two wooden frame cardboard crates. They were all Soft Felt Hats from the 1930s and early 1940s.

How incredible—must have been thrilling to take possession of that lot. And how perfect that they should end up with you!

Fun day... I had a couple people stopped me to compliment my little towncraft hat. Once in Walmart and once at the local grill during lunch. Ill get a couple comments a month, but two in a day makes me smile. People DO still appreciate hats whether they wear them or not.

Janyška, "Praga" possibly mid 1930s to early 1940s. This Soft Felt is also from my May 2016 NOS Czech find. It has an extreme Brim flange (can see in the 2nd photo) without Binding. It also has a wide Band and Bow and the Black Felt has a very soft hand.

Janyška Hat Holder possibly 1930s, also from my May 2016 Czech find.

I’ve mostly been hanging out with the JBS Twenty-Five lately, but this morning I grabbed the Gannon beaver for some early morning chores:

A generous Lounger friend gifted me this nice Dobbs 20. The crown and crease is all whopper jawed and crumpled up but the felt is still as nice and solid as it ever was. No fading. No mothing. I thought about straightening out the crown and recreasing it but the more I looked at that hat, the way it already is, the better I like it. It has tons of character the way it is, imo. It just looks like a well worn hat. Other than changing out the sweat I may leave it alone and just wear it like this.

Slap on a little leather treatment and I'm golden...
