Straw season is quickly approaching. I'm afrayed the days of felts will soon be coming to an end. Stetson No. 1 Quality (LOT 2534):
Thank you! Thanks Voo, my fellow Champ man!
Your new one looks great on you - you wear all styles really well!
Grazie, Daniele. The Nebbia plays misty for us, but it wll get another go for sure.It is the weekly ranking of the most listened (worn ) singles of the week.
Here are my top three places, despite the "Misto Nebbia" being quite foggy!
And what a glorious blue it is!
Thank you, Reggie. You and me both!Oh boy! Lots of good hats this past week, Stefen. All of them are A+, but you know how
I love that Hanover Square!
Thank you, Robert. Tip of the hat to you.View attachment 610146
An exquisite collection as always Stefan, The Open Road, just for it's brim. Such a brim to tip when complimented with: "Nice hat!"
Perfect combination again, Reggie. I miss the pocket square though
Oooh, now that's a bow with attitude. Fantastic.Northwest Bone for services this wet morning.

I'm in awe, Eric. The pinnacle of fine hats every time!It just started misting. I completed my walkabout in time. A Gannon Beachcomer was my fedora choice this morning. The bone beaver felt added some brightness to the overcast morning sky.
Best, Eric -
Superb hat, Charlie. Great shape and styling.
Well, it is what it says on the tin: stylish perfection. One of the black hats from many years ago that I really like and have given a lot of research to in recent years

This has no name, the patch inside the crown has faded over the years.

It is a mixture of wool and fur and features two writings in bas-relief on the sweatband.
"The Perfection" the other is "Stylish"

I found this on the sweatband of a bowler hat sold, and perhaps produced by Cabella, a hatter and shopkeeper in Milan.

I really love this hat as well as others that do not have famous brands, known for their workmanship and diversity from what can be seen in the hats of those distant years

A heartfelt thank you to all the loungers who show off great quality hats every day. I don't have time to comment on them all, but believe me it's always pleasant to scroll through the FL pages
Very nice, Nathan. Easy to like hats, these Champs.
Very cool little stingy, Mark. Bonus points for the colour name!My newest (to me) rolled in yesterday, and will, of course, be my hat for today. It's another Champ Kasmir Finish, this one with the incredibly strange model name of Portly Lyric. I can't even BEGIN to figure out where they came up with that. It's got a 1 & 7/8" bound-edge brim, the crown's 4" at the front bash, and 4.25" at the side, and it sports a 1 & 7/8" ribbon. Color is shown as "Raven Grey." Not overly jazzed about the glass-and-metal hat pin; maybe it looked better back in the day. I'm considering replacing it, but haven't decided yet.
Between the shown original price, and the fact that the retail store that sold it burnt down in 1957, I'm estimating this one as mid-50s vintage.

I too am having a tough time envisioning what the name may refer too. Also grey not a color heavily associated with ravens… even if mature females do lighten to a similar color. My newest (to me) rolled in yesterday, and will, of course, be my hat for today. Thanks, Joe. I really like it, but me thinks someone in Marketing had a four-martini lunch the day they came up with this one.I too am having a tough time envisioning what the name may refer too. Whatever the case.. The hat looks great on you, Mark.
Seems quite the Champ-y kind of day.
