The hat is a magnificent example, at least in my opinion as a collector, of an elegant hat from the beginning of the last century.

Made mainly of wool and a few tufts of hair, it has an almost silky surface that reflects light.
Unlined and with a high ribbon and snapless brims it is almost good for this full Italian springtime

Good morning. A theme of gray (or blue-gray) hats will be evident from my post.

A morning walkabout in a Royal Stetson (very light hued blue-gray felt).

Morning coffee in a Stetson Royal DeLuxe (gray felt). The tall crown on this hat makes creasing it fun.

I went and washed the car and picked up a bag of groceries in a Stetson Whippet.

Thanks guys. The color in the pics is a bit brighter, but it is close. A lovely blue not mistaken for black at all. Easily comparable to my St. Regis hats.

We are going to This lady's funeral today. Through the tears, love & laughter and bright colours will prevail. Click on the link and see the order of service. We shall all be wearing Hawaiian Leis, that's those garland of flowers worn around the neck. It's going to be some day. Painful? Yes. But she will have a leaving party like no other. Entrance Ceremony for the new first graders today, so the Brümmel’s Homburg made an appearance.

We always hope for the cherry blossoms to be in full bloom for the entrance ceremony. Today they were spectacular!
