zoot suit riot.jpg

Tina and I are off to see a young couple today, who have invited us to their wedding later in the year. They have asked if I can chauffeur them in my old MG on their wedding day. "Better than that," Tina said, showing them a photo of my zoot suit. They just loved it. So in my zoot suit, driving our seventy year old or more MG, we are off to enjoy lunch with a delightful young couple.
Our friends loved the zoot suit but they have yet to see my classic hat and just for good measure I shall wear these shoes.

Custom V yesterday. After enjoying Stop Making Sense so much the other day, I decided to go to American Utopia yesterday. 14 people in the theatre, I picked a seat at the side, away from anyone else, so I could dance around like a lunatic like last time. About three songs in, I was instructed to sit down (there had been a complaint). Somewhat dumbfounded, I sat down and just bounced around in my seat for the next couple of songs. Once again I was told that was a no-go. I asked for (and got) my money back and left. A huge disappointment. The fun police are out and about.

Etsuko wore her Akubra Leisure Time.

Today it was my Snowy River for some outdoor cooking.

The home cured bacon and fresh tomatoes made this taste amazing.

And speaking of food, I only recently (thanks to @Blare) discovered that today’s lunch is considered odd in large parts of the Western world. But what could be more normal than baked beans on toast!?

Talking Heads = dancing feet in my book too, Gary.

I feel sorry for anyone who hasn't had or doesn't appreciate beans on toast. It's what the Empire was built on :)

Great looking Custom V, Etsuko always looks cool in her Leisure Time, and you couldn't look more Antipodean in your Snowy River, mate.

I was lucky enough to see Mr. Byrne's live show when he was touring with American Utopia. One of the best concerts I've ever seen.

And I've seen a boatload of concerts.

My friend certainly enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame from that whole process…. But I think more so he has enjoyed the experiences and friends he gained from it much more.
