Your Cavanagh colors are very reminiscent of my VS Black Cherry.

Good morning. A walkabout this morning was under the brim of an inky blue Cavanaugh homburg.

The maroon binding contrasts well with the inky blue felt.

Today, an old Stetson with an early mark... not sure I've seen another. Likely early 20th century, The Fray stamp, large scalloped size tag, silver foil store imprint (in unusually good condition) and stub sweatband ribbon are all indications of age. It is the only Stetson I have with a three digit LOTXXXX stamp. Good quality felt and one of those textured Fray sweats that wear like iron.

I hit it too hard at the climbing gym yesterday and today I am forced to take a full rest. I did get some apnea walks in (a freediving exercise) a few hours ago and that has proven very useful for minimizing the symptoms of my nervous disorder.

Chilling with the Borsalino watching world championship women’s rock climbing makes for a mighty fine afternoon nonetheless. These young ladies are absolutely amazing athletes and deserve only the best in headwear from their audience.

My reading this week is a book on the French natural philosopher Rene Descartes. Happy Thursday friends.

Down in my old Jersey hometown today. Some new housing (of course), even a condo development rising out of the swamp, but still a couple of salvage yards on Texas Road east of Route 9. Oh yeah, it's a death trap, but me and my baby got out while we were young. Wearing another black hat for Lent, this one pure black. Triumph by Champ, with a Super Sonic Edge. Very light, but surprisingly warm (four Beavers!).

Watching this year’s Super Bowl halftime show put me in mind of my favorite of all time: the Boss in 2009. Glad you were born to run!

Great Lent hat: black stingy brim beaver felt seems perfect to me somehow.

It's great to see that homburg again! I hope you get rested up and feel well, my friend!
