P. & C. Habig Wien "Special", P. & C. Habig's "Special Qualität" Reine Handarbeit Berlin Friedrichstr. 82a possibly early 1930s. It was made specially for the P. & C. Habig Berlin store at Friedrichstrasse 82 which didn't survive WWII and is NOS condition. This has to be one of my best finds. I found this Homburg back in 2019.

The seller of this Homburg is the wife of Arnulf Meifert the original drummer of the progressive Krautrock band Faust. They live in a castle in Bavaria that belonged to her family. :) "Dr. M" was Arnulf Meifert's father who was a well known Berlin "bon vivant" of the 1920s and 1930s.

Habig Hüte, Berlin at Night, Friedrichstrasse-Lindenpassage (1928). P. & C. Habig Berlin store at Friedrichstrasse 82. front and center. I found this postcard back in 2012.

Two absolutely wonderful finds, Steve. The Homburg is superb, the address on the sweat is the icing on the cake. The postcard is a fantastic iconic image of 1920s Berlin by night. Great bonus with the Habig shop sign.

Nice! Welcome to the Lounge. Tell us more about the hat (and maybe those boots as well). You wear them well!

I can see why! Looks great David.

I’m always so intrigued by your Mode Edge with bound brim. I wonder if it was special ordered that way by a customer who wanted a Mode Edge “because it’s the best” but still wanted decorative binding. Or if it was offered that way at some point. Beautiful hat! And of course there is The Brock!
Thanks, fellas!

I took my walkabout this morning under the brim of a Stetson 3xMode Edge fedora. The blue-gray felt appears more blue under today's Minnesota sunrise.

I enjoyed morning cold brew (Volcanca Costa Rica and farm sourced half and half) wearing a Brock.

Checking back in here. Crazy lately, and not really about to let up, but here’s a moment of hatted respite.
Good to see you around, Jeff. Wonderful variety of hatstyles on display there.
Stetson Select Quality, circa 1930. A chameleon taupe/brown/gray... adapts to its surroundings.

Fantastic as always, Alan. The colour shift is remarkable indeed.

Superb homburg, Steve and the provenance to go with it!

Old Stylepark with cool spiral brim stitching. From a factory that closed by 1941.

Nice shape to it, Joe and what looks like a nice dark heather.

Perhaps my favorite hat—Borsalino Gorasgu (sp?).

It's one of those grail hats, David and for good reason: they are exceptional hats.

Nothing but exceptional hats from you, Eric. That Brock gets me every time though.

Oooh, now that's different. Love that colour.

For some reason those Wormser hats are very photogenic. This one is no exception; beautiful hat, Nathan.

Now we're talking! Most excellent homburg, Joe. Great find.
