Today a particular Borsalino on a sunny day with nights below zero.

It comes from Northern Europe and is the result of an exchange with Stefan.

Borsalino Qualità Extra uperiore for a mixed felt, soft and beautiful to the touch.
View attachment 579325
The color is M.Pepe Mixed Pepper) and the ribbon is Coki 5 and the size is 6 1/2 French Points.
It was "abused" in its previous life and needed some TLC from Penumbra Hats to still be wearable.

What fascinates me is the color and finish of the felt which is green with a series of tiny light beige inserts.

One of the house cats kept me company. Her name is Zaira recklessly on the wall about ten meters above the ground, but as we know cats have seven lives.

Thanks for your likes and I'm developing a list of fellow loungers hats that I ardently desire, fishing, so as not to be led into temptation, among those not in my size.
Nice hat!
But now I feel like Italian cats got cheated. American cats get nine lives... :(

We are under a blizzard warning today, I went out for just a little while this morning in my modern sage Stetson Lamont.

1950's Caxton 5X Beaver, model "Old Tascosa", which was the name of a frontier town northwest of Amarillo, TX.

Cold weather is very unpleasant for folks who live where it is unexpected.

I hope nothing freezes up for you. Good luck.
I had to buy an electric blanket through Amazon and have it delivered to Mexico City.
Few homes have central heating here, as it isn't really necessary. When we experience cold (coolness, really) we just plug an electric heater to the wall.
I am pleased that I can remember worry about pipes freezing only as a very unpleasant distant memory.
I hate cold! Most people here don't know what it really is. It's scary!

So today I stood in line on the streets of Manhattan for nearly an hour, drizzling and windy as heck, to get into a pizza place. Ordinarily I’d find another spot, that’s a long wait. It was absolutely worth the wait. And I was glad to have my black cherry VS to cover my head.

I like NY pizza, but Chicago's deep-dish, particularly Gino's East's, is the best in the universe.
I wish we had either one in Mexico City.
The VS is nice, too!

I’m not a fan of it at all. Spent a couple days there, years back, with a friend who moved there. We went to all the alleged best pizza spots and hated them all. In fact I didn’t like much about Chicago, apart from finding a hundred dollar bill on the street. I like pizza the way they make it in Italy (and the way I make it at home).

I had it in Italy and it was delicious! Just a little street joint, and it was wonderful. Thin and very tasty! I had forgotten about that.

I went there years ago—before the lines. Great pizza and classic vibe. Your hat looks awesome on the wall there, like part of the decor.

Had some actual cold this week. Supposedly it will be snowing the coming week. Some people dislike the cold, but like groceries it keeps you fresh!

Thanks. I actually lived on Bleecker many years ago, above the Rock n Roll Cafe, and have never been in John’s. Lombardi’s, I would’ve said, was always my favorite. I’m hearing they may not be as good as they used to be. Gonna have to find out.
