What an absolute fabulous hatband on that Penumbra panama.
So unusual. My choice though, would be The Dunlap. When you see
my new burgundy blazer, that's due anytime now, how that Dunlap
would compliment it.

Tina & I have had a very enjoyable weekend at the Shake & Stir festival.

We have been filmed, photographed, and put up on both the local newspaper and Facebook. My search effort hasn't produced anything yet. If you are clever at that sort of thing, we were filmed at The Cafe Riva, Southbourne, Bournemouth.

I'm amazed you can still wear hats, not to mention jackets and ties in the heat of this summer, Stefan. Needless to say, I'm happy that you do and make our Sundays complete.

Stetsonian Bowler and the Mossant are my favourites this week. The others, of course, are not far behind.

I should add that apart from our hats and shoes, my talented lady made both our outfits, such was the reaction that the newspaper was just one of a number that requested we pose for a photo. She's certainly a clever girl.

J. Hückel´s Söhne "Flexible" possibly later 1920s. This Stiff Felt is overall fantastic and one of my favorites. It has both an interesting liner color and brogued sweatband. Also in excellent overall condition. I found this Stiff Felt back in 2013.

Thanks, Steve. The lightweight felts I can usually still wear. I'd wear more straws than the two on display, but it's a pain to get to them!

Stevens Hats - 4X Beaver Western
Chocolate Brown Felt
Approx 4 3/4 Open Crown
Tri-Cord Ribbon
2 5/8 Brim with bound edge

This Stevens tri-cord 4X Beaver caught my eye and I was happy to bring it home for the opening bid which was less than its original retail price of $13.95. Maybe an interesting look at what was soon to become Stetson branded manufacturing. A bit slighter dimensions for a western with a just under 5 inch open crown and 2 5/8 bound brim. The hand is nice and smooth, but the crown is a bit stiff. It does take a nice dry crease… though it does seem to prefer its open crown. The hole noted by the seller in the front of the crown looks to be a small moth divot that doesn’t appear to go all the way through… as well as another near the top left side of the crown. Other than that the felt is in seal nice shape. The remnants of the thin yellow crinkly plastic liner tip have me guessing late 50s early 60s… but just a guess really could be a bit later.
