It has turned cool and drizzly here in Western North Carolina, so I'm taking advantage of that. I decided to wear a couple of heavier felt hats this coming week while I can before the inevitable humid heat arrives. Today is one that I picked up recently, a Tilley fur felt fedora made in USA. It has the secret pocket up inside, and clever ear flaps for when it gets cold. I had no idea such a thing existed before finding this one.

I like it too - it's a nice touch. This is a strange (in a good way) hat for somebody who's into felt fedoras and also a Tilley fan. It's a felt fedora in every way on the outside but it's all Tilley on the inside.

Anchor Man…I’ve never seen another. 5 ¼” crown as creased and 3 ½” brim. The most ventilated hat I own. It’s a generous 7 ¾ and I always smile when I decide to wear it.

I made it over to Buckaroo Hatters today , Mike had some western straw bodies that he had recently recieved.
While I am normally a fedora wearer I like a 3 inch brim body he had. Sooo long story short.. I had Rocky and Mike do this one for me.
Kinda Open Roadish... I love it!!!!

While there I got to visit with old friend Mr Gordon Turner.

Our visits always remind me of this song,

Thanks, gentlemen. The Maysers did get me some comments while wearing them. A German tourist commented "schöner hut" when I walked around in Dublin. And the bowler got me a comment a few days after I wore it. Something along the lines of "you wore a bowler this week: fantastic". Always satisfying to hear a nice comment.
