What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

A bespoke project with my friend Keith from down under... he took a piece of antique French linen that I found at a flea market and a worn out old paisley Guess shirt that I loved to death in the 1980s and never had the heart to get rid of and combined them into a lovely cap, breathing new life into both. I hope you all enjoy a happy Memorial Day weekend!

Spent a lot of time in the hat room this week:

Beaver Brand American legend homburg,
Hornskov open crown,
Greeley buckskin top hat,
Saturated brown telescoped Buckaroo,
Stetson No. 1 Quality

Edit: the photos came through in a different order than It looked, so I hope you all can figure which is which!

Everyone is looking swell as always!

Stetson Latte Florentine Milan Straw - worn while eating extremely hot pickled peppers last night at a great ramen place here in town. Those peppers aren't on the menu but they know I like my ramen very spicy so they brought them out to me as an appetizer to get me started. The picture was a screenshot of the snapchat my wife sent out to some friends - she thinks I'm nuts.

Back to the hat, I have no idea what this "Florentine Milan Straw" is really made of. Maybe some form of plastic? It's a mystery. I like it though - very tough and versatile. Cool a plenty and gets compliments.

It has turned cool and drizzly here in Western North Carolina, so I'm taking advantage of that. I decided to wear a couple of heavier felt hats this coming week while I can before the inevitable humid heat arrives. Today is one that I picked up recently, a Tilley fur felt fedora made in USA. It has the secret pocket up inside, and clever ear flaps for when it gets cold. I had no idea such a thing existed before finding this one.
