Good morning. A morning walkabout in a Stetson Vogue.

I wore a Portis "The New Slant" for sipping coffee.

I watered some newly planted flowers. The Gannon gilled fedora protected my head from our "new" mosquitoes. This morning I remind myself that there are No mosquitoes in the cold and snow seasons.

Whippet today. This hat was always a bit shapeless—it has been worn a lot over the decades—and never quite had that classic Whippet profile. Over the weekend I hit the crown with some Bicmore stiffener and then steamed and shaped it so it is a million times better. Good product to have on hand.

Very classic looking! I have a hat with a floppy brim that could use some stiffener. I’m gonna try that product with it.

This was once a rough and well worn, dirt and sweat stained working Western hat....

2 3/4 brim with felt matching binding

The CHAMP De Luxe is HERE! I hadn’t seen the De Luxe designation on a Champ before… but if the felt and ribbon on this hat didn’t catch my eye… the colorful Champ De Luxe logo sure did. This is by far the finest Champ hat I have had my hands on. The very thin, very soft and moldable felt is in the chameleon of felt colors…. One minute it’s grey.. or light brown.. next it’s green… then taupe… the magic of Loden. There is no labeling indicating “lightweight“ but this feels as soft and lightweight as my Champ Feather Weight hats.

There’s The ribbon a beautiful mauve grosgrain that goes perfectly with the felt. Then comes the brim…. 2 3/4 inch brim with a felt matching brim binding set off by super cool 3 rows of brim stitching.
