What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

That’s. Lot-a hat and a lot to like. Nice, Joe!
Thanks Brent.. a bit of an unknown (hat) brand. But a very well known name in the American fur trade during the 1800s entrenching Astor (Astoria) as one of the most wealthy families in history.

I do not know who made this hat… but they did a heck of a fine job.
Joe, Thank you! I think I will continue with Stiff Felts and then shift to Curled Brim Soft Felts. :)
Fantastic Astor - Hats of Distinction from you today! You guys are keeping this thread going!
Much appreciated Steve

C.a.K. (Císaři a Králové) Dvorní Továrna Na Klobouky / Kaisers and Kings Court Hat Factory , J. Hückel'a Synove Vídeň / J. Hückel's Son Vienna, Alois Pinkova Hradec Králové (due east of Prague and was Austria Hungary at the time) possibly early 1900s. This Stiff Felt has a wide Brim with a very tight Curl. The Liner and JHS Crest are striking. Also a great looking textured Sweatband, I found this Stiff Felt back in 2014.

Have not posted for a while. I visited Savannah recently and wore my Akubra BGG style master in case it rained but failed to snap a photo. Too busy eating everything I could. Here are some photos from recent weeks. Gannon Playboy, VS chocolate, and Wolfbrae Nutria were the only ones I got photos of. The light streak on brim of Gannon is just a reflection. The Gannon is in Granite.

Last one is older photo to show color of the Wolfbrae.

P. & C. Habig Wien "Grand Prix Paris" possibly around 1900. There was a newspaper from 1903 behind the Sweatband so my guess is this model was made around the time of 1900 Paris Grand Prix. I was very lucky to find this Stiff Felt back in 2021.

The Band and Bow blocked by the Brim Flange.

Similar Stiff Felt Forms, Also P. & C. Habig Wien Crest with "Patent Ventilator" from a P. & C. Habig Wien - Berlin Catalog, possibly 1890s.

A truly wonderful early 1900s Bowler, Steve. The lettering on the sweatband is certainly art nouveau, which befits the period.

I especially love the brim flange curve.

Great find!
