It's cold and clear here today, my Stetson Playboy fit the bill quite nicely.

I don’t wear the Hornskov much because the petersham. Ribbon annoys me…such a little thing but I grumble every time I see it.
I hadn’t noticed the petersham edge on the ribbon straight away. This one I don’t think is as dramatic as some others.

I get what you mean about it not being a preferred ribbon type... I think it can make a nice change of pace though. I’m thinking some sought after hats like the Flagship had petersham in some of its incarnations.

Thanks, Joe. Your blue Marathon is a fantastic hat!

Ooh! The petersham debate again. Watch it Brent. You might get another telling off!

I’ll just say the hat looks spectacularly good to my eye. Is it the Alberti?

Of the five Hornskovs in our household, four have the petersham. The black wool felt with steel ribbon has quite a strong contrast and I think it makes the petersham very noticeable. The dusty rose ribbon on my stone felt and moss ribbon on camel felt are less noticeable, at least to my eye. My Mogul came with grosgrain (might wear that one this evening). It all seems a bit random. Etsuko’s is also petersham, but I gather that petersham is standard for women’s hats.

I just read your gripe about the ribbon to Joe.
Surely it’s about time Joe started reading for himself!

Hey Charlie, Hi. Got a smile from this post.
Wisdom i taught my kids with was the saying “Just do the next right thing”.
Be well and safe.
Bowen
It’s hard to go astray if that’s the guidance, Bowen.

All 3 of my kids heard me say “pay attention, and do the right thing!” every morning on their way out the door, K-12. I also remember (even though I didn’t work directly for) DIGITAL Equipment Corporation, whose credo started and ended with “do the right thing.”

I still struggle with that…

Stellar hats! Can’t wait to see what hats make it into the rotation next.
Thanks, Brent. New batch coming up shortly.
So much character. Gotta love it.

Fantastic!
I don't comment as often as I should, but your dress sense is always an inspiration, Fabio. Spot on every time!

Cavanagh Thirty Five. 2 1/2 inch brim. Just got it yesterday. I know this is a rather late vintage Cavanagh, but this particular fedora doesn't have to apologize to anyone.
It's a beaut!

I seem to have been in a Borsalino mood this last week. Today was no different.

Hard to capture the subtle mirtillo colour of this Lobbia in the grey light of today's weather.

Ahh, so many homburgs still to find;). Very nice, Steve.

J. Hückel´s Söhne "Flexible" possibly late 1920s and a recent find.

Good to know they're still out there. Lovely bowler, Steve. We'll keep searching.

I tried my hand at pouncing today. I have two Hufvuds I hardly ever wear because I dislike the texture, so I gave it a go. Pounced them both to a 1200 grit.
The first is a green Ragnar in rabbit.
Before and after pics.
They feel much better.

They do indeed look better, Max. Maybe you should have Ignacio teach you the whole trade!

We are off to this gig today, looking forward to it. During the day I shall be wearing this:
Tina's handy work, trousers and shirt, compliments my Gamble & Gunn bespoke, perfectly.

But, as yet, my pin up silhouettes have only had a local outing, so I might just change, but the hat stays.

Come the evening and everyone gets changed into their finery. Can't let the side down.

The hat is another bespoke, as is the blazer, (Fox Tailoring,) the shoes are from Colin Johnson and Tina made the shirt and trousers. As for the gig, well I have heard it said that you are never too old to rock & roll.
Excellent outfits, Robert. Enjoy the gig!

J.C. Penney Co Marathon in DARK blue heather Melusine

in brigher light the sheen on the lights fibers is much more evident .. in lower light it can almost appear black.
