That really looks like vintage felt. Is the era of Stetson doing reissues and special runs like this over?

It’s over for now, but who knows what the future holds? The man who was the driving force behind those hats has moved on to other ventures with other companies.

It’s easy to forget that we here represent only a small portion of the current hat buying public. Most of the hat customers want machine pressed crown shapes in felt that doesn’t ever need reshaping. They want lower crowns, they like taper, and even a 2 ⅝” wide brim seems huge to them. Stetson wouldn’t have discontinued the New York, Stetsonian, etc. if they had sold well.

Deep dark blue with this Dobbs Twenty that more than likely started out a bit wider brim as it once sported a Guild edge before being trimmed and expertly attempted to recreate the felted edge with tiny hidden stitches. This hat was gifted to me some time back by @jlee562 A very much appreciated beautiful hat.
