Etsuko wore a Maxim, also paper.

My Bailey doesn’t have any remarkable details, but I thought I’d get in on the macro action. Using my poor man’s macro lens (lens removed and held away from camera body).

I get some pretty nice results using this technique sometimes - when I have the patience for it. The most sensible thing to do would be to just purchase a macro extension tube. They’re reasonably cheap.

Milan Strat for a ramen lunch. Mine was their super spicy one. I’m used to a silly amount of habaneros in my food, so not a problem, but the sansho (literally mountain pepper) really made this special.

Tina is currently making me an alternative pair of trousers to wear with this blazer, in a plain maroon colour. The hat of choice is a Stetson Royal Sovereign, but I have been pondering about a maroon hat. What I would like, but as yet have been unable to find, is the black cherry fedora:

Black Sheep isn’t taking orders at the moment (unless something has recently changed) and his queue has been running over two years. He (Bob) offers options not available elsewhere including hand dyed felt colors.

I believe FEPSA might have bodies in a color that is close. You just need to ask Tim if he has a color that’s close and select the hatter. A more economical and VERY fast choice is a rabbit fur felt hat from Agnoulita. Less than $200 (US), free shipping, and you should get your custom made hat in less than 30 days!

Between purple, Byzantine, jewel, plum, burgundy, and wine they probably have a felt that’s close.

Your reply was much appreciated, your train of thought is more or less in tandem with what I have chosen.
The good ladies at Gamble & Gunn in Devon are making me a white fedora, white absorbs dye far better than any colour.

There is another small company in Dorchester that specialises in ladies hats, my wife has had a couple made there. The proprietor, Cheryl, has agreed to dye the white fedora, at my own risk.

I actually considered trying to apply the dye myself, but even if that was successful I would be hopeless at removing and re-attaching the hat band ribbon, which also needs the same colour.
It will, probably be the end of September before it is done, I will post the end result, unless that is, it's a total disaster!
