Hey gang, been a long time since I posted. We have a little bit of cooler weather (meaning it's under 80!) so I thought I'd pull out the Thoroughbred 10x.

I love this hat, but i'm always a little on the fence about wearing it. It's quality is amazing, and it was definitely the look i was trying for, but I don't know that it exactly suits me. I feel like I look amish or prospector-y

I bought it because it was a dead ringer [after some re-blocking and a thorough-bred (nailed it) cleaning] for the Red Dead Redemption 2 Stalker Hat. I included a few pics from the game to show what I was trying to hit.

That being said, I do think a different hat band will go a long way. I just haven't quite found the right one. Would love people's input on it. Maybe it's just that this is more of a winter hat than a summer. Maybe I can't pull off the black. Not sure.

I agree, I think you wear it of very well. Cool hat! A different hat band would suit it though. :)

That's a great hat and you wear it well. No one will take you for being Amish - with those headphones... Maybe Mennonite ;)
I am always wanting to change out the stock hatband with something different so my $0.02 advice is to think it through a bit to make sure you get the look you are going for. Hatbands aren't necessarily expensive but the cost can start to add up if you get one (or 2, or 3) that doesn't quite work out for you.

Out and about today we finished my son's eagle project then off to a new restaurant in town serving hot pot and Korean dishes. I was toting an early 50s Marathon. The restaurant was a very welcome addition.

Sometimes you have to take it back to basics. Tilley Hat

I love that. Tilleys are what I believe to be some of the most versatile hats out there. I bought an airflow LTM5 years ago for sun protection (still wear it) and now have six in different styles/colors. My latest one is a hemp in olive green that looks a lot like the one you're wearing.
