What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

There are a handful of days each year that call out for this between the seasons Dunlap duplex. Today was one. I suspect this to be a late 1930s offering with the Sizor adjustable sweatband mentioned in the 1938 advertisement below. Dunlap was a Hat Corporation of America brand at this time - somewhat less common, though Prager's Mens Store seemed to do a brisk business with them.

Wonderful two tone hybrid, Alan.

A shame that the "sizor" didn't catch on. I have a few hats that would benefit with that "latest Knox development"

Here is a Monte that I have yet to wear and one that need to be built with the the hat box. View attachment 422644 View attachment 422645
The top one is exquisite and the hat body is exciting to imagine what the final hat will be like.

You can pass for a real live gaucho in that Barbisio, Stefan. I really really like that Dalton, it is one tough looking hat!
Thank you, Reggie. I might get used to that Barbisio (if just in my back yard;)). The Dalton is quickly becoming a favorite.

The recently acquired Hückel again today. Not looking quite as blue under the overcast sky.

Still beautiful, but it is a bit of a chameleon in that way.

O my; what a hat, Vic!

Very nice, Perry.

Hey all!
The wind finally calmed down enough for me to feel safe wearing this Mossant, the pièce de résistance in my recent trade with Stefan.

I like everything about it, but especially the bow work. An amazing hat.
Have a great day!
Looking good, John. If you enjoy that one half as much as I do the Dalton, you'll be ok.

Sunshine in the mitten this morning as well, grabbed my pure beaver OR for the trash pile.

Happy Star Wars Day to all!

Another that hasn't seen much wear, mainly because I have to crawl back into the boxes, clear some jungle with a machete, and fight a horde of orcs to get to it.

A Mallory with an interesting brim binding treatment.

And a quickie from yesterday; exercising my franchise in a black CD.

Glad you did al of that anyway to show it to us, Jim. Looks great!

View attachment 423173 New to me Knox FoxHound in two tone ribbon. Thing’s near mint!
Interestingly the binding is two different colors sewn together using a blind stitch to apply on top and a regular stitch underneath. Impressive execution.
Looks like something Art would’ve done if he was working for Knox in the mid/late 50s.

A new favorite!

That's a beauty, Randall. Never seen anything like that brim binding before.

Gannon Mr. Natural. I've probably been gravitating to gills lately because of the rain.
